Future Showbiz Giants

From what Jim Carrey has said (and what his fans think) he won’t go back to a role as serious as the Majestic. Personally I like him in a somewhat balanced, half serious role like Bruce Almighty that gives him a lot of room to be funny but also some depth as a real actor. I think there’s a big demand for his over-the-top stuff, though (sadly).

I think Colin Farrel could do a lot-I really want to see a movie with him and Edward Norton. I watched Daredevil, in which he was by far the main attraction (besides Jenniffer Garner’s chest), and then the recruit. I was a little wasted when I watched the recruit, but I could still appreciate the range-the only way you could tell it was the same person in the two movies was by the face. Then he came out with Phone Booth.

What happened to Haley Joel Osmond? Wasn’t everyone saying he was destined for greatness?

I just saw a trailer yesterday with him in a new movie with Robert Duvall and Michael Caine–they’re his crazy uncles or something.

That would be Secondhand Lions. Check out the trailer: it’s pretty funny.

Also check the “raw footage” clips on the same site. Interestingly enough, they started filming just when Haley’s voice had settled down, so in order to play a kid whose voice was in the process of changing, he had to revert to the way he’d sounded before! At the end of “Camera Scene 15A take 7”, he sort of apologizes, in his normal voice, for stumbling over a word.

Oh, and it’s Osment, not Osmond.
