Anyone watch FutureWeapons on Discovery Channel? It’s a neat show but I guess my only complaint is that half the episodes seem to be about some sniper rifle that can shoot a mile or involve this crazy looking old guy who makes these wacky shaped charges. And some of these weapons like the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber or Barrett .50 Cal sniper rifle have been around a decade.
I want to see more actual futuristic weapons like lightningbolt guns or killer robots
They had a neat one which showed a light weight plastic frame you filled with water, added some det cord, and allowed you to blow a hole in the wall of a house. That was neat.
Yeah, they had a few segments they had to stretch over multiple episodes. Overall, a fun show. Not the most technically accurate - sometimes the host/narrator will say things that will make me wince, although I suspect it’s the error of some script writer or something rather than him, being an ex-SEAL and all.
There are a limited number of things in development that are open enough to make into substantial TV time, so I don’t have a problem with them going with weapon systems of the last 10-20 years too. Since they seem to be short on material, though, I wish they’d take the time to be a little more hardcore and less fluffy about the stuff.
