fuzzy sweatshirt question

i’m new here, so i dont actually expect anyone to pay attention to me. but i do have a question.

how do they weave/knit sweatshirt material so that it is all soft and fleecy on one side and knit tight on the other side?

WAG here–they knit it like regular fabric, then they have little metal wire thingies like a dog comb that fluff it up on the one side. You do the same thing with hand weaving. Otherwise you end up with fabric that’s rather board-like in texture.

I have no idea how they do that. I bet that Duck Duck Goose is pretty close.

I did want to say hi racerx and welcome to the board. Just because no one knows the answer to your question doesn’t mean they aren’t paying attention to you.

I don’t know the answer, but it does remind me of another question, is there a particualr trick to washing a sweatshirt so that wonderfully soft and fuzzy inside stays that soft and fuzzy? Mine always seem to get a little less so with each washing.

Yes. Wash it inside out.

Cartooniverse

I have the same question- I just got a sweatshirt as a birthday present and I’m putting off washing it since I don’t want it to lose the wonderfully soft and fuzzy inside. Of course, this is just creating another problem…

Cartoon is right.

  1. Wash it inside out.

  2. Either don’t put it in the dryer at all or for just a little bit on a low heat.

  3. Hang it up to dry the rest of the way. (turn it right side out before you hang it up).

  4. And, never underestimate the power of a little fabric softener.

Your fluffys will stay fluffy
