I responded to a post yesterday entitled ‘Bible Question’. It has since been moved to Great Debates by Dr. Matrix. In it, I nitpicked a poster because he abreviated the name of GOD by typing G-d. I asked why he, or she, would do this, as every word in the dictionary has seen the light of day in this forum, and I wondered why he was censoring that particular word. A new poster, not the original OP, stated the following, and I quote: " Lots of people won’t write out the name of God. Jews do it all the time, for one. It’s a respect thing"
Poster was SNOOPYFAN
My question, then, is, WHAT? Is there a cite for this? Is this a belief of the Jewish faith? It seems to me that if you have respect for something, you don’t try to hide that fact by censorship. Any followers of the Jewish faith care to weigh in on this?
