Yeah, but as a result of that episode, the late [del]great[/del] Gaddafi cannot be discussed in our household without using that same disapproving voice: “Mo-mmmaaaaarrrrr.”
My mother use to call him “moo moo.”
Well, that article says that there was footage of rebels hauling a wounded Gaddafi into an ambulance. A doc with the rebels says he ‘died from his wounds’, and his body dumped onto the street half an hour later. Pretty vague, but unless I’m missing something, it doesn’t say he was outright executed.
Would be nice to see a clip of the footage they are referring to.
Here’s the video. The initial statement from the transitional council has said Gaddafi died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, and he doesn’t seem to have many of those in this video. More recently I think they’ve said he was wounded in the neck and bled to death after being put in the ambulance. It’s not possible to determine that from a couple of seconds of video and there’s been a lot of confusion from all sides, so I don’t want to imply more strongly that they executed him.
How are they going to spell his name on the tombstone?
I’ve often found the U.K.'s Mail Online to be a better source of information than American news sites. Below is a link to an Online article with lots of crisp, clear and graphic photos of Qhaddafi’s capture and dead body, including one showing an apparent bullet wound to his left temple.
Correctly, I assume.
Seriously, they’ll probably do it in Arabic, for which I assume there is one single correct spelling.
Moammar.
…less letters than ‘Rat-at-tat Rat’, so I approve.
I believe the correct spelling is “rekcuF-taoG.”
Pity there’s no new SNL episode for a couple of weeks. Fred Armisen is losing a glorious opportunity for an opening sketch here.
Yeah. I’m not a doctor, but in the video, he doesn’t look wounded. He is walking, talking, pushing, arguing, and other things that look like he is just captured and unhurt. He must have tried to escape later. *shrugs.
I’m generally against summary execution, but with all of the bad things in the world, if it happened in this case, it would be #549 on my outrage meter of bad stuff that happened today..
On a related note, after being reminded of the Obama Administration’s role in the liberation of Libya, Rush Limbaugh took the opportunity to mourn the loss of “America’s bestest friend in the desert” and to admonish Obama for, once again, accomplishing things that the Republicans couldn’t. Then he passed out in a Oxycontin fugue.
I await with bated breath to see how this can be spun as something against Obama. Is anyone brave enough to check the usual suspects?
“HUSSEIN Obama killing threats against second term.”
“Today we mourn Gaddafi ®, killed by Muslim terrorist with contacts to the United States government.”
“Throat Warberler Mangrove”
Weekend at Gaddafi’s.
I think we should pause for a moment to recognize what a sad day this is for unlicensed plastic surgeons who don’t care where their money comes from.
Why didn’t the fool split to Venezuela? Chavez was his good buddy.
Stupid…stpid…what good’s that villa in SWitzerland now?
Perhaps he was on the way.
