I’ve been reading about Gaia Theory lately. I was turned on to it by Discovery Channels upcoming show Project Earth, it looks really cool. Seeding forests, wraping the arctic in reflective material, windmills in the clouds etc…etc…really out there stuff but fun nontheless to think about.
I spinned off thinking about Gaia Theory and found that I eally enjoy the philosophical idea that the earth is one huge living organism. It makes me think that those who choose to work in the green industry are part of some kind of a global remedy or medicine. Or at least thinking about sustainability is giving some awareness to the geophsyiological nature around us. What do you think?
One bump for good measure…
Ok, you’ve peaked my interest. I’m going to go and do some research on this. Sounds pretty cool to me. Thanks for the info.

I read Lovelock’s ‘The revenge of Gaia’ last year and enjoyed it, but more for the insights into the mind and personality of a truly great scientist, rather than the ecological thesis in particular.
My attitude to people in the Green industry is diametrically opposed to yours, which makes pioneers like Lovelock such outstanding individuals - they are able to bridge the interstices between very disparate attitudes and worldviews and are respected by all. Predictably, Lovelock has had a rocky relationship with the Lilliputians in the UK green movement in recent years.
I agree, I tend to hang with dirt worshipping treeuggers who take their environmentalism a little too far sometimes…Ken Wilber types.
