Gaiman's Books of Magic

Seeking an escape from endless news coverage and harsh reality, I’ve been reading some of the Books of Magic. They’re really good, and I’m hooked! I’m thinking of picking up some more of the books or possibly even old issues.

Can anyone chime in and tell me if it stays good, or which books are good and which aren’t?

Please no spoilers for anything after the “Bindings” collection: I wanna be surprised. Thanks!

I thought Neil Gaiman only wrote “Book of Magic” as a limited series. Later, others turned it into a monthly comic.

Chuck is correct. Gaiman only wrote the original four-part miniseries. John Ney Reiber wrote the regular series, up until issue 50 or so.

In my opinion, it was pretty good for the first two or three storylines and then went completely haywire. There’s a 5,672-part storyline whose name I can’t remember that simultaneously went everywhere and nowhere. Around that time I just got fed up with it.

I just looked it up and it looks like the “Burning Girl” TP is the storyline I felt collapsed the whole thing.

You may, of course, feel differently.
