That assumes I have any will left to pick up a snow shovel.
I don’t.
It rests where it fell.

How will the winner be decided when all the present snow has melted away but then it snows again a few days later?
Now you’re just being cruel!
Ship it my way – lovely study in greys skiing this morning, breaking through the snow’s crust, with tiny avalanches from the branches and mist covering the top of the Nor’westers in the distance.
An update: we had a high of +26 today; sunny all day; not a cloud in the sky.
And we still have snow, back and front.
My yard is CLEAR!!! Yay!
So is Gorsnak’s guess of May 7 looking likely or not?
I’m guessing I was a day or two early. Most yards up here in Saskatoon are clear, but we didn’t get hit with that last 6" snowfall. Plus there are still piles here and there. There’s one back of my apt block, a couple feet high and covered in some inches of leaves and debris, where the parking lot snow was cleared to. At one point the pile was over 8’ high.
And Gorsnak scoops the pool!
(Or he would, if there actually was a pool. :))
Came home tonight - front 40 was snow-free! Went back behind the house, and in the last two spots, the snow was gone.
Woo-hoo! Now, time to get the pump going to drain the backyard sump as the melt drains into it.
Did anyone tell Gorsnak that the pool he won is the meltwater in your backyard?
Unfair advantage really, what with being much closer geographically than the other guessers. Don’t want any meltwater, thanks, have lots enough already.
Congratulations on being snow free! Hopes it lasts awhile.
We could use some meltwater. This Saturday we are supposed to rig our outrigger, only (1) it is supposed to snow, and (2) the harbour is still solid ice aside from the freighters’ path, which is nowhere near where our canoe is.
Darn it, I never win anything
::sulks::
NP seriously, enjoy spring and summer. I would not wish another week of snow on anyone. It’s May fer crissakes
Capt
And I’ve been watering my yard for a week now, and there is a fire ban here because conditions are so dry.
Hey, for next year’s Piper’s Pool, we might be able to get a prize donated from The Long John Index Service of Canada. One of my friends won a pair of mittens from them.
Overnight rain removed the last of the snow on my yard. Went wading this Victoria Day morning.
You thought you were joking, didn’t you, Sunspace?
Maybe not.
The Regina snow dump is still there, even though the Enviro Canada guy was predicting it would be gone by now: We still have snow (lots of it) in July!
So if it doesn’t melt by the end of September, and the snow starts in October …
Wow, when I saw this thread pop up, I thought it was until now that the yard was snow-free.
I would have never guess July 30th.
Yes, the Piper yard is snow-free; it’s that ominous city snow dump that I’m worried about…
