♪ Spring in the Prairies, Comes like a Surprise! ♫

Enough whining and moaning! At last, a day with + 10 Celsius! The snow mounds in everyone’s yards steadily subsiding, as the water oozes out from under them, flows across the sidewalks, and into the gutters! Steady streams of waters in the streets, heading for the drains!

Connie Kaldor put it best, bless her Saskatchewanian heart:

Our long winter may be over! (But the PiperCub, sceptical beyond his years, told me today when I said it was spring: “It’s not spring till all the snow’s gone, Dad.”)

It’s currently 74f in Minneapolis. I am blind from all the pasty white Scandinavian flesh in shorts and t-shirts for the first time since October. There are still mounds of snow dying off in shadowy corners and where plows made 15’ piles in parking lots.

Of course, we’re supposed to see snow again on Thursday. Feh.

Today was lovely. I spent most of it outside with my daughters. Couldn’t have been better.

Spring. Is. Good.

Spring, but windy as hell here. I rode my bike the last two days and went for a run today and everything felt like it was going backwards. Gusts up to 100 km/h this evening!

I am thankful for the sun though!

He’s just taking a page from your book..

Spring will be long delayed in Ontario this year. The Leafs aren’t out yet.

We’ve had 70s and sunny for 2 days in a row () here in southern MN. Our yard groundhog finally came out of hibernation. He might go back in next week when we have highs back in the 40s.

The annual bicycle tour came through today. Unfortunately, the late spring also made this manuring day for the local farmers, so I think the bike tour was less pleasant than usual.
