Outside, It was sunny,
warm, and delightful this morn’.
Spring is almost here.
It will snow again,
It will be cold, miserable.
But it will not last.
Winter is fading
and I take comfort in it.

I’m not gonna write any haikus, but spring is most certainly NOT almost here, seeing as we just got a nice little dumping of snow, we expect more through to next week, and the temperatures are dropping into the minus-teens. The past two days have been quite cold, about -20, or -25C… this morning I took a nice hot shower but by the time the water hit my feet, it was cold!
I do wish spring would start showing up, but I have the feeling it will be well into March before we get much sign of it.
I don’t know where you are, but winter is just starting to get good around here. The ski season is in full swing.
The OP obviously doesn’t live in Minnesota.
Yep almost here, I’m getting sick and tired of days in the 70’s and nights in the 60’s.

I can’t wait for Spring in Boston!! The Dutch tulips are out in the stores–can’t be long…right? Right?
I saw a couple mourning doves mate the other day. Plus, yesterday was sunny and warm and today a winter storm is on the way. That’s proof it’s spring.
Or Michigan.
Spring is no where near us-- it’s coming, of course, but it’s no where near,
I think winter just hit where I am too - VA. Not that it’s as cold as the midwest or the northeast but it finally got in the low 20s and teens. I was beginning to think winter would skip us all together but I think it was just late.
As predicted, it is snowing this morning. Most of you missed the point of my little poem: It is winter, but not for long. Sometimes it is hard to see that through your foggy breath, but to remind us, nature gives us a nice sunny day. A glimpse of things to come.
I planted three Norfolk Pines last weekend, finished trimming a couple of Live Oaks and all the Crepe Myrtle. The Silver Maple is covered with pinkish purple blooms, as are the Lorapetulum, so the Redbuds and Mountain Laurels can’t be far behind. River Birch are going green as we speak and blooms are appearing on the Azaleas. I’ll fertilize trees and shrubs this weekend and weed-n-feed the yard.
I took the day off yesterday and got a little sunburned reading the paper on the patio. Spring is happenin’ here. Don’t think I’d do so well in a long-winter state or province.
I think the point many of us are making is that we have still many months of winter coming. A sunny winter day is just that, a sunny winter day.
