Happy vernal equinox, all!
And to you as well!
'course, in this neck of the woods, it might snow a foot next week… but probably not, and it’s great to say so long to fourteen hour nights and The Hawk and wind chills so far below zero they make your testes cry out for the sweet release of death.
I love the first day of spring. It’s the gateway drug to summer.
Happy spring, all.
Should anyone need any extra motivation for their annual cleaning binge, I recommend the beginning of this video.
Spring sprang with snow in these parts. Big flakes of snow, despite it being 37 degrees out. Lasted a couple of hours.
Ja, we had a skiff of snow this morning. Granted, it’s warmer than it’s been in weeks, and I hear the weekend’s going to be good, but I can’t wait for it to warm up already.
We heard PEEPERS last night! Woohoo! Only about ten of them and only for a few minutes, but they have started.
Yay! Spring! The dead frozen hand of winter is beaten back for another season! Time to celebrate!
Spring is winning the battle, but it’s a fairly lengthy one here. Nonetheless, it’s going to be warm and sunny today. I love winter, but I’m happy to see spring. It gets really pretty here when everything turns green again.
I love Peepers almost as much as tree frogs (Ne-ne-nits). The daffodils are getting ready to bloom even though they got snowed on, but they’ve been covered with snow before and still bloomed. I wish it would go up to around 68degrees.
Infernal Equinox is more like it in this neck o’ the woods. It’s 12F out the back window as I type this.
The only things that keep me sane are the flocks of redpolls and chickadees visiting the feeder. Still, it’s been sunny and we have 12 hours of daylight now. The roads are dry, which makes driving at least relatively non-hazardous. But spring? Nah, not for another month at least.
My yard reeks of grape KoolAid right now, a good thing actually, from the profuse blooms of five Texas Mountain Laurels. The viburnum and redbuds are fading but the wisteria is just about to cut loose. I’ve even been mowing for a couple of weeks. Eleven years ago I started filling this yard with fun things and now that they’ve all matured it’s a great time to be outside appreciating them all.
I like the sprung and wish it lasted way longer…
I saw my first robin of 09 today, it is indeed officially spring.
