Game of Thrones 6.05 "The Door" 5/22/16 [Show discussion]

Right. I’m pretty sure this is what I said. Hodor and Summer are dead, ergo…

I truly don’t want to see Hodor as a wight.

Here’s the parental guideto the show which (very helpfully;)) describes every instance of full frontal nudity, male or female.

I think we may have had the full frontal discussion in another thread about movie nudity. For some, full frontal means a whole body shot of a naked women from the front. For others (mostly men), if it doesn’t include a spread shot, it doesn’t count as full frontal. Which I claim is ridiculous. We women can’t help it our stuff in neat and nicely packed away.

I was elaborating, not disagreeing.

Back in the Red Wedding episode when Bran and Hodor were all hiding up in that tower there was a storm and Hodor was freaking out "Hodor! Hodor! Hodor!"until Bran had to warg into him… He thought he was about to die.

Once again, this season, episode one. Fully shaved octogenarian lip action.

Blocked out? By which you mean ripped your eyes out, crushed them in your fists, then set your fist aflame? Cause that’s what I wanted to do.

Ah, thanks. I hope Craster’s sons aren’t turned into White Walkers the same way the first guy was.

Nah, the Night King touches them on the forehead, that seems to do it.

No. The Night King just touches the cheek of Craster’s last son.

I just checked. There’s nothing that clear, not unless you’re zooming in and “enhancing” it like they do in the movies.

I dunno. The first thing the other lords of the North will want to know is if it’s really Sansa which will necessitate the Boltons revealing how she came to them.

I would expect that a message by raven would be faster than LF traveling to King’s Landing.

I think Tormund and Jamie have some similarities. Battle hardened warriors, alpha male types, good looking in somewhat different ways. Jamie was certainly a great deal more polished, being a highborn, aristocratic type. Brienne was high born as well, IIRC, maybe that’s a key aspect for her.

I’m pretty sure Stannis said it was a red priest/ess who halted the spread of the greyscale.

Ros showed her vagina to Theon when she was on the wagon to Kings landing. Miranda or her friend(can’t remember) went full frontal trying to get Theon warmed up to have to penis cut off. Then there was Cersei’s walk of shame. Those are just off the top of my head I’m sure there has been more.

Nope just watched that scene again, I misremembered that.

I remember that. Is it easier to remove an erect penis than a flaccid one? And did Ramsay leave Theon his balls, or did he take those, too?

CGI.

Covered by baby dragon.

Seven merkins.

Merkin.

All merkins, except maybe Ros on the wagon. Her actual ladyparts may have made an appearance for that one.

“Full frontal nudity” for women pretty much always means topless while wearing what amounts to a hair g-string. They aren’t nude, they’re wearing bottoms.

What’s more, there’s no reason to show actual women’s crotch areas when merkins are so easy and effective. What’s the point? As you rightly point out, even without a merkin you wouldn’t see anything unless they shaved or got into some porn position.

Game of Thrones (and pretty much the entire entertainment industry) pretty much never shows actual full frontal nudity for women. Far, far fewer than the number of penises shown. Not even close.

Though that would be hilarious if they just decided to steal Uncle Euron idea about offering Daenerys the Iron Fleet.

Good point, though there’s no telling what Daenerys is going to think of her Regents’ actions when she returns to Meereen. And in any event Tyrion just gave Red Priest & Priestesses instructions to preach, not their own private army.

As much as I enjoy twinks going full frontal even I though that was gratuitous. Speaking off; what’s Olyvar up to these days?

I also that it was a girl playing Joffrey.

Assuming we saw the same preview…

…I’m thinking Margaery may be one paying with her life. It looked like she was caught in the middle of a standoff between the Sparrows and the Tyrell forces. Though if Tommen finds out Cersei was in on the plan and betrayed his confidence he could lash out at her in a big way (or blame himself for Margaery’s death & kill himself).

I think Brienne’s like a supermodel to the Wildlings.

Plus she married Ramsey according to the rites of the Old Gods (who most Northerners follow) conveniently avoiding the issue jumping through whatever hoops the Faith requires for an annulment.

True, and while leg & armpit shaving seems universal among Westerosi women it doesn’t look the Brazilian wax has been invented.

Yeah but,

Cersei would not be upset if Mags gets killed. I think Tommen, not knowing the plan, tries to save her and gets plugged.

I just took another look at the previous episode. I didn’t notice it the first time, but Tormund’s wide-eyed practically slack-jawed expression as he sets eyes on Brienne for the first time is wonderful.
