Game of Thrones S3 - open spoilers

Is Igrytte biting it this episode too? That might be a bit much for a lot of people.

Unlikely, she gets killed during the attack on Castle Black, there’s no way they’re fitting that and the RW in the same episode, I’m not even sure we’re going to see it this season.

Boom doom boom doom… I am so excited.

Hmmmm….

Too much? What do you guys think? (Hi Enderw…)

I think it’s kind of dickish to do that if Enderw really knows about the Red Wedding.

Not cool. It shouldn’t give anything away to anybody who doesn’t know what the Red Wedding is, and those who do should already know it’s coming. (Well, hopefully; they could easily have already had it an episode or two ago if they’d cut some unnecessary padding.)

It probably does seem like it’s a pun of some sort, though.

Which he undoubtedly does.

The term “seeing red” isn’t all that common anymore. “Pissed” is a more logical word choice.

And "If something exciting doesn’t happen . . . "? Something “exciting” happens in most episodes, especially the penultimate one. So it’s a rather inane comment and will be seen as coming from a bookwalker.

It’s not really dickish though. The most someone can get from it is that there will be blood.

It’s not called the red wedding anywhere outside of the fandom. Still a bit dickish but ultimately harmless.

Fool’s blood, king’s blood, blood on the maiden’s thighs, but chains for the guests and chains for the bridegroom, aye aye aye.

I saw that and thought it was dickish as well.

Seconded. Don’t even joke about potential spoilers, however remote the connection/inference.

It’s not even funny, it’s not an “in joke”, it’s just a dick move.

He ought to, he’s posted in the “open spoilers” thread before.

That’s twice this season that they’ve gotten my heart pounding anticipating/watching a scene. Really well done. I thought they did a wonderful job of misdirection with the strategy session at the beginning.

Unsullied husband’s comments: “I didn’t see that coming. I should have. GRRM really doesn’t like the Starks, huh? . . . I don’t see how they’re going to continue the story at this point.”

I waited three years for this episode. I’m satisfied.

Did they substitute the baby stabbing for the wolf-head thingy?

Watching that shit was terrible but it was so much worse living through it with Cat in the books. Still, I usually roll over and go to sleep after GoT is finished but not tonight.

The wolf head thing was told afterwards, it would have taken too long after the climax of the episode to show it.

For your entertainment/nostalgia, some comments from the GoT Facebook page:

'i havent stopped saying FUCK for last 20 min
how the Starks supposed to win now?..FUCK MAN
FUCK THE FREYS AND FUCK BOLTON FUCK EM ALL!!!"

“You just ruined my life.”

“What’s the hell did I eye just watch!!!
Fucking game of thrones was like getting your eye pulled out your nose, n your tongue getting pulled out from your ear…today’s my birthday…and this shit right here is not the way you want to end it…FUCK YOU HBO!!! And A BIG FUCK YOU GAME OF THRONES AND MAINLY GEORGE R.R MARTIN…IF I EVER SEE YOU…YOU GET THAT KUNG FU IRON PALM FACE SLAP…CAUSE THIS WAS THE WORSE AND FUCKED UP STORY TELLING FOR TV I HAVE EVER SEEN…I MEAN EVEN THE DIRE WOVLES …DUDE THAT’S JUST WRONG!!!”

“Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy”

And perhaps my favorite: “Annihilating all the Stocks while multiplying the evil Lanisters is not exactly a Game of Thrones. The game was obviously favoring one family since the very beginning … you need to get a new blood of writers… it’s gotten very predictable… we get it, the Lanisters has the game, they rule no matter what. Let them keep the iron throne and end this story. Very disappointed with the 3rd season… it ruined the best characters for us. They are all dead.”

Yup, those Lannisters are clearly going to be riding high for the rest of the series. Utterly predictable. Have you learned nothing???

To a certain extent, this reminds me of Battlestar Galactica. There are no classic heroes, and everybody is fracked, one way or another.

I’m going to guess that The Eighth Lady Frey wasn’t that important in the as yet to be released books.
