I think fans would care about that significantly less than Ned, the Red Wedding, or Oberyn; Sansa isn’t popular.
100% does Sansa get tortured. They’re not going to sub her into that storyline and then sub her out because it would be too uncomfortable. Might not be on screen, but Sophie Turner is 18 this season. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see some seriously disturbing shit this year.
Well I guess that’d be one reason to try to accelerate Stannis’s march on Winterfell.
Though that would also make Stannis the Savior of the Starks, esp to the North. They may just end up calling him the new King in the North ;).
Though you wonder what Littlefinger does when hearing that Sansa is getting tortured. Though they may not necessarily go down the road of making it as bad as Ramsey did to Jeyne. Though losing your maidenhead to Ramsey… ugh.
Listened again. Still hard to tell, but maybe you’re on to something. He does use a hard “k,” as in Kerwyn not Sirwin, which is not my first assumption but eh, it’s Westeros. I initially discounted that family as I assumed they were Southern and served Stannis (I think I was thinking of Celtigar). But they’re Northern, and later joined Stannis in the books.
In the books, when did King’s Landing know that LittleFinger was in the Vale? How many people knew of his ongoing relationship with Lyssa? Because I know in the books, Petyr did everything he could to hide Sansa from the world, whereas in the show it seems like even the serving girls at the tavern know it’s Sansa. And Cersei knew exactly where he was.
So I just wonder how long it’ll take Cersei to say to herself “you know…it’s kinda strange I haven’t seen that schemer Littlefinger around since literally right after my son was murdered. And now he’s in the Vale, married to Cat’s sister, who also died, and travelling around with Sansa Stark.”
I mean, sure, Cersei might not actually know all that information…but she knows some of it. So shouldn’t the idea of Littlefinger’s involvement at least have been thought of by someone? How can he possibly still have a home in King’s Landing?
Maergery & Tommen actually consummating their marriage (4 times) sure is a big change; no committee of septas giving her a virginity inspection for her.
The Lannisters knew of his relationship with Lyssa and purposely sent Littlefinger to the Vale to marry her and bring her into the fold. They don’t know that he secretly stuck around offshore so that he could steal Sansa away from the scene of Joffrey’s death (they thought he was long gone to the Vale).
Not to mention that once Sansa’s location is revealed (and it will hardly be a secret once she and Ramsey are wed), I would think Cersei would do whatever she could to drag her back to King’s Landing to answer for her role in Joffrey’s death, not to mention interrogating her on her (former) husband’s whereabouts.
On the flip side, after the scene in which the elderly servant tells Sansa, “The North remembers”, I am now convinced that Sansa will be the one orchestrating the murders in Winterfell, assuming the show does the “ghost in Winterfell” plot line.
No, she didn’t. Roose said “A rider brought this from the Vale.” Qyburn sent the raven to the Vale, and the Vale of course knew to relay the message to Winterfell. Cersei thinks Baelish is still at the Vale or thereabouts.
That’s possible, though given how much more into her TV-Tommen is I imagine we’ll see flashes of Joffrey in his reaction to her accusers. I’m surprised Maergery shove an animal bladder of blood up there just to be safe.
But will the Godswood heart tree whisper Theon’s name?
And, it’s too bad Lord Too Fat To Sit A Horse In The Book won’t be pulling his subterfuge in avenging the Starks and bringing Bolton down from the inside at Winterfell during Ramsay’s wedding.
Jaqen says something like “there is only one god, and you know his name” which is very similar to how Syrio said “there is only one god, and his name is death.”
I’m completely in the “Syrio is dead, get over it” camp.
I don’t know how I feel about this. On the one hand, it’s reassuring to know what the original players in the story are the ones who matter. On the other hand, if this is the case, what’s the point of the ten thousand new characters?
