I want to get this out of the way and be clear, since we had some problems at first but since we implemented these rules it’s been pretty smooth sailing.
This thread is for discussion of the TV show as its own entity. There are other threads in which you can discuss the books and how the TV episodes relate to them - you’re welcome to participate in both, just keep this discussion about what a viewer of the TV show would know. All discussion about the current episode in the thread title and all previous episodes are open and unboxed - which is a duh, since that’s the point of this thread.
There should be no spoiler boxes, since either the comment is either about the TV series and should be unboxed, or is about the book and doesn’t belong in the thread at all. No deciding for yourself what book information does or doesn’t constitute a spoiler - no outside information is welcome at all. Please don’t comment, complain, or argue about the rules in this thread - if you feel the need to do so, start a thread in ATMB about the policies of these threads, since this has been something we’ve had to get a handle on through modding before.
Anyway, I don’t anticipate all that would be a problem - last year’s threads ran quite smoothly, but I wanted to get that out of the way for anyone new joining us this year.
Anyway, it’s hard to wait a year for these things. Super excited for tonight.
Edit: Just realized there was a thread pinned to Café Society addressing the rules here. At the edge of my edit window so hopefully everything I’ve said is in line with them. I can’t re-title the thread, but what’s intended for this thread is in line with the “NO SPOILERS” section.
I’m in a rather different position than many (most?) of the folks in these threads: I’ve read all of the books, but we don’t have HBO so I’m unable to watch the current season (we just finished watching Season 3 via NetFlix on Friday). For that reason, I rarely if ever post in the ‘Show Threads’, but I do love reading them to see the reactions as various things play out on screen.
I’m not sure what I’m most excited to see. Arya and the Hound have great chemistry, but having all the Lannisters in King’s Landing is pretty juicy as well. Maybe the Queen of Thorns’ sass beats both though?
Last season ended with Daenarys crowd surfing at a slave rave. I’m hoping this one starts with Tyrion and Sansa hosting a foam party as a combo of first married get-together/wake for her mother and brothers.
Can’t wait! I binge-rewatched season 3 recently. I wish each season were a few episodes longer, but I’ll take quality over quantity, if that’s the trade-off.
Looking forward to find out what happens with Jon and the Wildling girl, and Arya and the Hound.
