Whew. Let’s see. Before I start answering questions, some more hints. I could be part of either a mechanical or an electronic device. These are slightly different, and which one I’m a part of may affect some of the answers to the questions. For simplicity, and since I think the electronic versions are much more prevalent today, I’ll say that I’m on one of the electronic ones.
“A pine cone with a transistor radio stuck in it. How about that?” Hmmm. If you’re guessing things like this, maybe my answer isn’t that obscure after all. No.
“Does the pointer point electrons (i.e., electrical) Does it point light? Sound? radio waves? infrared signals? Some other type of remote control?” Nope. I don’t actually point anything - I point like your finger points. Er, that is, if your finger is pointing.
“Does it point for the purposes of…” Nope. There’s no point in my pointing - I just happen to do it.
“Are the three main objects part of one indivisible unit? Are the four objects?” They’re all part of the same object, but I wouldn’t call it indivisible - you could dismantle it, though it wouldn’t be nearly as useful.
“Are the two objects which are non-pointers and non-pointees identical?” No.
“Are they mirror copies?” No.
“Are they similar?” Yes.
“Is it part of or related to a…” The only one on your list that fits is… Computer! That should round it down a lot for you.
“Is it commonly found in…” Well, wherever a computer is found.
“It’s a duck with a timex in a toaster, in the sink, with a remote control, doing the hokey pokey, next to the duck shaped frig, watching the Mightey ducks on a duck shaped tv.” Yes! Oh, no wait. Maybe - what’s a frig?
