Gardening Question: Asparagus Ferns

Hey gardeners, I’m having trouble with my beautiful asparagus fern and I’m not sure what I did wrong. The plant has grown just fine indoors, when it got warmer I put it outside in the sun.

Now I’m noticing that lots of the leaves are turning yellow and some of the ends of the fronds are shriveling up, so I brought it back inside.

This is the second spring I’ve had the plant and have not repotted it yet. I usually only water it every other week or so as I’ve read not to overwater. Did I leave it in the sun too much? Water it too much…?? What should I to do help it? Any ideas?

Sounds to me like it got sun scorched. You may try moving outside into a shady spot where it gets filtered sun, but taking it from outside and setting it in direct sunlight won’t work. Ferns typically don’t grow in direct sunlight in the wild, so a house plant wouldn’t either.
