Gardening question: picking pepper plants

Inspired by Anaamika’s reported success, I decided that this year I would grow bell peppers, in containers. The seed packet I bought was Burpee’s mixed collection: red, yellow, orange, white, and purple. I sowed them all, but at some point will have to pick two or three to transplant and actually grow. The color mix looked fun at the time, but honestly I really want red or orange or yellow peppers, rather than white or purple. Could it be that there is a way to tell what color peppers the plant will produce… before it produces any peppers? As of now, the seedlings have purplish stems and bright green leaves.

Unfortunately, there is no way of telling at this point. All of the peppers will start off green and then turn into the different colors as they ripen. This is my second year growing seeds from that same Burpee mix, and in my experience the number of reds and yellows out number the other colors, but that could have been pure chance.
