Give me a frigging break.
Will every cartoon get it’s own live action movie??

You know what’s worse than the fact that this movie exsists?
The fact that they were putting a trailer for it in front of Passion of the Christ. Aside from audience age appropriateness issues, I think it’s extremely poor form to preface a religiously-themed movie with a trailer that explicitly proves the non-exsistence of God.
I remember the look of horror I wore when I saw the trailer the first time…
Coming soon:
Rose is Rose starring Courtney Cox!
Apartment 3-G starring Debra Messing and Ben Stiller!
Prince Valiant starring Luke Wilson! With Jimmy Smits as Merlin!
Okay, I made that last one up.
They better, or else SMG and Freddie Prinze Jr are going to be out of work.
Oh, come on! Garfield is hilarious! He’s fat and lazy, and he loves lasagna! And he hates MONDAYS! How crazy is that?
No, I’m kidding, this was a terrible idea and a waste of Bill Murray’s voice.
Sometimes i think Bill Murry takes the worst scrips he can find just to challange him self. "Can I, the Great bill Murry save this piece of shit called “Charlie’s Angels?” IT makes total sense, and explains the Spy who Knew to little. Which I liked becasue Bill Murry always makes me laugh
I actually liked Charlie’s Angels, but I realize I’m in the minority. And apparently Murray and Lucy Liu hated each other on that set, because his character was replaced by Bernie Mac in the sequel (which I didn’t mind either).
I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan, and I have heard that Murray is the reason we haven’t gotten a third movie, or action figures and other merchandise based on the actors’ likenesses. From all accounts, he seems like a moody guy at best and a tantrum-throwing “diva” at worst. But I still love the man’s work. He cracks me up like no one else.
Could the dog in the trailer look less like Odie? Plus, if Garfield is going to be CGI then Odie should have been as well. Some serious synaptic misfiring went on at that meeting.
Let me guess what next year’s project will be: Beetle Bailey the motion picture starring Jack Nicholson as Sarge, Robert Duvall as the General, a CGI Beatle and a duet featuring both the live and the animated Josie & the Pussycats. It will be the first Spielberg/Kroft production.
Nicholson as Sarge? No way. It’d have to be DeNiro.
This December…Family Circus: The Movie! Watch your favorite suburban family do nothing remotely amusing or dramatic for an hour and a half!
I just saw the trailer. Looks like ol’ Garfield is getting Scooby Doo treatment. You know this movie is going to be horrible. You just know it…
That was one of the crappiest things I have ever seen.
So, of course it will make a billion dollars. Sad fact of life…shit sells.
Hey, Wal-Mart, make room in the $5.99 bin.
Ugh. The cat doesn’t even look like Garfield. And the voice is all wrong. Bill Murrey may be funny, but I vaguely remember a Garfield cartoon series where he had a deeper, moodier voice.
WTF is with this Hollywood mindset that live action is the ultimate form of movie-making? At least the Simpsons movie will be animated.
Good Fucking God.
That is the WORST MOVIE CONCEPT EVER.
EVER.
Not to defend this movie (I have no plans to see it), but I have to admit the CGI for Garfield from the trailer was better than I had expected.
Still trying to decide whether this or I, Robot is the cinematic travesty of the year, though.
By Lorenzo Music - who, incidentally, voiced Pete Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters. He was picked because he sounds so much like Murray.
Voodoo Lou - Murray didn’t even want to do Ghostbusters II, apparently, so be thankful for what you got.
And for the love of God, will people stop saying how much this movie sucks and how it’s the worst thing ever before you have even seen it?
I used to love Garfield.
I enjoyed the cartoon version that Lorenzo Music voiced.
I even enjoyed the ‘garfield and friends’ show, and still watch it when I’m sufficiently sleep-deprived.
I’m sorry, but there’s no possible way that this movie can be good. None. Zero. Zilch. Na-da.
I will stand up and proudly say, without having seen it, that this movie will suck.
Then I’ll rent it on DVD in 6 months and confirm it.
I just watched the trailer.
Oh, dear God.
I too loved Garfield. As a kid. Twenty years ago. This…is an obscenity.
