I always thought Burt Wolf (a chef) might be gay. He was a cutie. I also loved that Frank guy from Trading Spaces and he seemed gay but he’s not.

Oh, I know! I totally thought he was gay from his…er…swishiness on the show, and his bio reads like a Gay Stereotype Form Letter: Elementary school teacher…art teacher…Master of Fine Arts…florist…artist… Then you get to: “It was in 1989 that he finally combined his arts and crafts talents with his business acumen and co-founded the business “Mosey 'n Me” with wife Judy, specializing in designing cross-stitch patterns.”

Wait, wife? WIFE? :smack:
But Robert Verdi from Surprise by Design? Gay. Real gay. And out.

I am a straight guy, and I noticed an interesting insight into how my brain works. I was once waiting for a firend to pick me up. I was standing by the side of the road, waiting for the nose of her car to appear from a side street. If there’s one thing distinctive about her car it’s that it’s bright, fire-engine red. Anyway, I saw her car appear, and it took me several seconds to realise, “Hang, on. That car is dark green!” My brain had instantly picked up, from just a gmlipse of the front of the car, the model, but the colour took longer to process. I was looking for a '95 Mazda 323 sedan, and a glimpse of about a foot of fender triggered the response. Maybe a woman would have been looking for a red car. I don’t know, but it was surprising.

Yeah right. Just the fact that you were looking for a car to appear, and one appeared, could have been enough to trigger the response, as long as it was at least roughly similar in shape to the one you were expecting (i.e. not a bus or a truck or anything). I’m not disputing your assertion that you didn’t pay attention to the color right away, I’m disputing your belief that your brain is so apt at instantly identifying specific make/models that anything other than a '95 Mazda 323 Sedan’s front fender wouldn’t have made you briefly start. If anything it just shows that you don’t pay much attention to detail.
