“yabble dabble!”
…or was it “yapple dapple”?
Either way, Babu was flaming.
Hair Bear!!!
Underdog and in the same show, Simon Bar Sinister’s sidekick, Cad. He sooo wanted the short bad man, so wanted him.
Oh and Dudley Dooright.
Elmer Fudd
NO FREAKIN WAY! Dudley was wierder than that! You saw how he looked into Horse’s eyes… he only wanted Horse…
I’ll punch my chad for Betty and Veronica.
I thought Nell wanted Horse.
Dammit, grendel, you beat me to it! I was going to post this last night after I watched Home Movies, but I thought no one else would post that quickly. Shows what I know.
Jimmy from Ed, Edd, and Eddy is not only flaming, but he acts exactly like one of my neighbors when I was a kid.
Horse seemed to want her, too.
Let’s not forget Inspector Fenwick.
And though not ORIGINAL to animation, I have seen them animated… and so I niminate BOTH Bert and Ernie.
Larry 3000 from Time Squad is pretty unambiguous. In fact, I’m suprised at the amount of gay innuendo they can put into a kids show these days. Did anyone see the Lewis and Clark episode where the two explorers broke up? Clark ended the relationship with something like “Look, Lewis, I love exploring with you, but I’m not IN love with exploring with you.” After that, Lewis cried, lamenting that he was over 30 and nobody would want to explore with him now. Larry was there to comfort him, giving him complements, until he agreed to become Lewis’s new exploring partner (which made Clark jealous enough to return to Lewis and restore history, the end). That’s just one example. Every episode they make it a point to reinforce this image. They never even tried to give him an opposite-sex love interest like they do with other “suspect” characters in cartoons (i.e. Charlie Brown for Peppermint Patty). In fact, in the Cleopatra episode, both he and Tuddrussel were vying for her attention, except while Tuddrussel was romantically interested in her, Larry wanted to be her shoe-shopping buddy. The character (an obvious parody of C-3P0) is so unarguably gay that I can’t believe nobody’s made a stink about him being in a children’s show.
Ahem.
CarTOONiverse
Every male character on Masters Of The Universe struck me as still being in the closet. Plus they all obviously liked working out.
Any character ever voiced by Paul Lynde would jump to the top of the list. Or whose voice was a take off of his.
Jiminy Cricket.
But I always figured Pepe LePew was bi.
I can’t figure out what’s funniest about this thread–all of the really funny nominations being mentioned, or the fact that so many people have an opinion on the subject. Myself, I never really gave it a second thought before.
However, does anybody else find it suspicious that Mickie & Minnie and Donald & Daisy have nephews, but no kids? And please, Fred “Jones,” if that is your last name, lose the ascot.
I’ve always really hoped that Marcy and Peppermint Patty are, shall we say, into sensible shoes.
My first boyfriend used to have a big crush on Velma. Sometimes I’d even wear knee socks just for him…
Well, the Scooby-Doo movie did cut out a kiss between Daphne and Velma…
The filmmakers said that they would address the lesbian Daphne question, even with the cut scenes, I wonder if they still can with PG rating.

Templeton the rat from “Charlotte’s Web.”
