Okay, I’m sure everyone’s got a favorite store which caters to the geek in all of us. So let’s post 'em here! My two favorites are American Science & Surplus, a nifty place that has all kinds of bizarre things that are basically other stores rejects. Plus, the descriptions of their products is hysterical!
My other favorite is Archie Mcphee which sells all the cool things that Spencers used to before they got bought out by Universal and started sucking. Where else are you going to find a ceramic smoking baby these days?
I’ve always been partial to Weird Stuff Warehouse and ThinkGeek. Fry’s isn’t too bad, especially if you know what you’re getting – their employees tend to be exceptionally clueless.
Posted this in another thread, and realized that I forgot to mention it here!:smack:
Lindsay Publications sells books on everything from smelting to building a crystal radio, to homesteading to building your own aircraft! It’s a great company! After reading some of the owner’s comments in the catalog, I have to wonder if he’s not a Doper. (If he ain’t he should be!)
