I’m sure he’ll be commentating on FOX very soon.
Palin / McChrystal '12?
I’m sure he would run on a platform of “I stood up for Murkins and was shit on”, conveniently leaving out the part about being an insubordinate asshole.
I’m assuming you’re being ironic but the problem is that a lot of people are going to look back and “remember” it this way. They’ll assume McChrystal resigned over some major principle. So let’s remember what it was McChrystal really did - he got caught making fun of his bosses behind their backs.
Nevertheless, he isarticulate and clean.
Sure.
I just couldn’t help but think of how people from central America love flying into Ronald Reagan Airport.
Wouldn’t dream of it.
Though anyone who thinks that kaylasdad is either illiterate or an imbecile can’t have much in the way of opinions that matter.
Didn’t McChrystal bite Bush on the ass, too? For his anti-politician stance toward both sides of the spectrum, I’d fire his ass… then hire him as an advisor.
Well, to be fair, most of the people in Central America who were affected by Reagan’s policies have been dead for a decade and a half.
Yeah, because those of us that live in “flyover country” are just a bunch of Reagan-worshipping, gun-toting, Palin-loving, Fox News watching, drooling rubes.
Nice.
ETA or did you mean people from Nicaragua, Honduras, etc???
Yeeeah, that. Defensive much?
Only with you, big boy.
Gotta say, if y’all think Central America refers to flyover country, you’re not doing much to dispel the rubes thing.
Maybe, except it wasn’t capitalized, it was “central America”, not “Central America”. I’m sure you’ll understand my confusion. I’m sure the poster meant “The Midwest”. Or maybe he’s Manuel Noriega.
From the BBC
And they say the BBC never lies ![]()
I’ve heard a couple people in various places say this or something like it. I don’t know how serious you are but, per Marc Ambinder in The Atlantic:
Good, fuck him.
Despondency in his HQ. “People are shocked. People are upset.”
Yup, them bitches about to be fired too.
Who called Gen. Jones a “clown”? Pack your bags, you’re done. Count your ass lucky it’s not the dishonorable discharge you deserve.
Ewww indeed… isn’t that an offence under OSHA, or something? Oh, wait, having no tastebuds isn’t illegal, is it?
You’re welcome. That’s pretty much synonymous with “former general.”
Heh.
Unless I totally misunderstood my military orientation factoids some thirty years ago, retiring from the military places you for life in the inactive reserve. It’s not impossible for a retired military person to be called back into active duty. Hence, a retired general is not necessarily completely the same as “former general.” Just pretty much.
Marines are a different story. It’s my understanding that even without retiring, an honorably discharged Marine considers himself (or herself) a Marine for life, and is so considered by other Marines.
I believe that they have to formally resign their commission which isn’t usually done.
The terminology is former Marine as opposed to ex-Marine.
