Birther U.S. Army officer to be court-martialed

Is there no end to this idiocy? The guy’s risking his career over this: http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/04/14/army-to-court-martial-officer-who-doubts-obama-was-born-in-u-s/. Would he feel better if Joe Biden signed his orders?

Ouch. He’s got 18 years in. Throwing away a very nice retirement with health insurance for life, over bullshit.

Expect this nimrod to be annointed a hero on Fox News.

The picture made me wonder “When did Mr. Roper join the army?”

Dude- the CJ of the SCotUS swore him in- he’s president. Period. EVEN IF strong evidence including video came to light that he was born to a Soviet she-spy who went into labor while dancing around Mecca or if overwhelming evidence that he was in negotiations to trade five unchaperoned minutes in the Smithsonian to Colombia in exchange for lifetime mountains of blow, UNTIL such time as said allegations are proven and he is removed he is your commander-in-chief. The birth certificate moronia has been disproven a thousand times- his birth announcement is in Hawaiian newspapers even- and if it’s your hunch that they’re false then I hope they drum him the hell out like they’re filming a remake of Branded./

He’s not the only one, apparently just the most vocal. AP Story:

No Human organization is without it’s nutbags. I firmly believe that, given a reasonable sized group of people - and the US Military is certainly that - that you can find at least 2% who will believe any wildassed proposition you care to make. We just don’t hear of the people who are courtmartialed or drummed out of the service for other “this guy is fucking insane” reasons.

Yeah, but when a nutbag reaches the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, you have to wonder if something is wrong with the screening process.

What is up with Army doctors? I believe one of the other birthers was also an MD, as was the Ft. Hood assasin.

Agree that this birther is a moron, but what’s the debate here?

He was likely anticipating a debate from birthers arguing that the guy mentioned in the OP’s got a valid point. There aren’t any birthers here, however (I hope).

Resolved: We are all so much better than the Birthers.

which leads to the debate:

Resolved: If you’re better than a Birther, does that really mean anything?

Well, the issue with this guy is not that he’s a birther, but that he disobeyed a direct order. Court-martial him and cashier him.

Lots of high officers believe very weird things. General George Patton, one of the greatest officers the U.S. Army ever had, believed in reincarnation, for Pete’s sake. Blucher thought he was pregnant with an elephant, and he still kicked Napoleon’s ass at Waterloo. Let the officers believe absurdities, so long as their performance is good and they don’t infringe military discipline.

Well the thing is that the Birther movement is funded by Israel. As you recall, one of its main supporters was Orly Taitz, an Israeli lawyer.

Up until now, the Zionist organizations have been able to maintain control over the government even though most leaders are Anglo-Saxon, but that was thanks to hundreds of years of slow infiltration of the system. They have been able to find certain families that are willing to cooperate with them, and they use their influence to get said families re-instated with each new generation. Not to mention their control over banks and much of the military-industrial complex.

As a second generation American and black man, Barack Obama has been able to rise to the Presidency free of this influence. If you listen to his speeches, you will find many instances where he as much states his intentions to break down the roots of this Zionist system and cast it out of our government. Discrediting his birth is just one of many of the visible battles between our President and this insidious organization.

No shit?

Good thing soldiers don’t believe in funny supernatural stuff anymo- oh, wait.

Wow. That almost sounds believable. Keep the tin foil hat brigade away from this thread.

This is a whoosh, right? Apparently I’ve been experiencing SOHF in some other threads today so I don’t want to jump to conclusions here.

I mean, I know that Taitz is Israeli but I don’t see how we get from that to the claim that the Birther movement is funded by Israel, except in whoosh mode.

I’m more devious than crazy.

If anyone can come up with some more stuff to flesh out the idea, I’d love to make some anti-Zionist’s heads explode (seeing as the same group is likely anti-Obama).

I love Orly.

i c what u did thar

Oh, okay. Did you see this Andy Borowitz column?

How clever of them. No one would expect them to implicate themselves.
