Yeah, it’s the fan. The thing is running at 700+ mgH plus the hard drive. It gets hot!
And I’m buying Morrowind next week. I have yet to hear a bad thing said of it. (Waits for Halo2)
I had one small problem with mine. It was a refurbished xbox that suddenly died after one month. I ended up taking it back to eb games and getting another one, this has worked fine for a year so far.

Neko - I also play Morrowind and get the “dirty disk” bug with increasing frequency (I’ve also noticed crashes if I try to swap between maps too quickly) so I will try that tip.
But can you explain why sleeping would reduce the file size?
It goes back to the “leaving doors open” thing. The game has to store which doors are left open in the save file (as well as position of corpses left on the battlefield, where items have been dropped and such). After three days of game time doors get closed and bodies vanish automatically. So this cleanup would normally take place, but sleeping helps it take place more quickly.
