that’s what I was hinting at in the link in the OP (but not Troy McClure, as his marriage to Patty showed).
I really want to enter this (most interesting) thread, but I have never watched ‘The Simpsons’. So I cannot relate at all, much less as well as you who demonstrate expertise with the series.
The last cartoon that I tuned in specifically to see was “Tom Terrific and his wonder-dog, Manfred”. Wait! maybe I liked ‘The Rocky and Bullwinkle’ show as well. After all, Bullwinkle and I graduated from the same university.
Any of you kids remember 77 Sunset Strip? (Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb.) Or ‘Adventures of the Texas Rangers’ where those guys were always flying around in a Bell 47 (which I’m rated in)…or “Tales of the Bengal Lancers”?
(Guy Kibbee and???)
Anyone know Who…rather…WHAT…NellieBelle was?
Those were the days, friends. Dobie Gillis, Our Miss Brooks, Ozzie and Harriett, Howdy Dooty.
You missed it kids. But I have fond memories. Well, except for my ex, the bitch-from-hell.
TC, I think you are suffering from manic-digressive syndrome.
tcbunett, if it makes you feel any better, I was once in the stage version of Our Miss Brooks in junior high…
And come one, don’t tell me that you’ve never had conversations about the seemingly trivial aspect of any of your favorite shows! Live a litte, watch a few episodes, you’ll like it. (But try to think of it as an over-the-top sitcom, not a cartoon… That might make it easier to relate.)
Hedgemeister and jti:
I thought Marge’s pregnancy with Bart was the reason they got married in the first place. Are you saying she not only cheated on Homer, but used her pregnancy to get a husband, and picked him ?
Gilligan,
I’m desperately looking for an alternative explanation, as indicated in my OP: Please, not Marge doing this! I’d be crushed. My hair might turn blue from shock.
Oh, and by the way, I’ve always assumed that Thelma and Patty’s natural hair colour is blue, but they’ve burned their hair purple from all those cheap home perm kits they must use.
And why does Seymour Skinner’s father, seen serving in WWII in the ‘Hellfish Bonanza’ episode, look just like Principal Skinner (nee Armin Tamzarian ), rather than like his real son?
