do some states not sell this? seems like i can find jack daniels everywhere but i cant find george dickel
Go here and put in your request and your zipcode. I see several places in Illinois for example where I used to live, but none in Austin. So I guess it has limited distribution. However, it can be bought on line.

Slight hijack–if they still 
have the plant tour, by all means take it, if in the area. My father, brother and I showed up for the tour (many years ago), and since no-one else came out that day, we expected a big “sorry, no tour.” Instead, the guy said C’mon let’s have some fun and showed us all kinds of “backstage” things, we took our sweet time, he and my father bullshitted about “grown-up” liquor stuff. It was a blast! When you make stuff you can’t sample (Dickle is in a dry county, as is JD) you’re just dying to show it off to someone.
