George was famous for being the Beatle most enamored of eastern religion, but in “The Beatles” by Bob Spitz, on page 567, he says, “later in life [George]… would devote himself to Transcendental Meditaion before embracing traditional Christianity.” I’ve never heard of this. Can anyone point to more sources that explain this change? Wikipedia doesn’t mention it, and I thought I heard that his family took his ashes to the Ganges, which wouldn’t be at all normal for a Christian.
Here’s one , an interview with Harrison’s friend Deepak Chopra. He discusses Harrison’s interest in eastern spirituality but says that Harrison remained a christian throughout his life.
