Did anyone who was watching the President the other night, and heard him ask American children to send $1 to the White House to be used on behalf of Afghani children, wonder if he was channeling Soupy Sales?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but as far as I know, Soupy had no plans to spend any ill-gotten gains he recieved by mail on anything resembling a humanitarian effort. Mr. Bush simply (I assume, not being his confidant)wants to allow the children to feel like they’re helping out their country. Where’s the harm in that, I ask you, sir?
Mythos, as far as I know, Soupy Sales never intended in spending his ill-gotten gains at all, as it did not seem to have occurred to him that anyone would take him seriously.
