There was also that time in San Francisco in 2020 when ANTIFA and BLM demonstrators knocked down a statue of Ulysses S Grant for literally no reason. The various groups at the time said he was a “major slave holder” which was patently untrue, then they had to switch the narrative to “He killed native Americans during his Presidency” which is true but also not the reason they initially stated they tore the statue down for. They were apparently just tearing shit up to tear shit up.
So common there is a name for it.
