Geraldo Rivera on Bill Maher last night

Geraldo was trying to defend President Embarrassingly Inverted Cock essentially because “he was nice to me” in the past.
LMFAO.
I’m getting more convinced that Trump has something on Rivera, kinda like how Putin has something on Trump.
Didn’t agree with Mahler’s condemnation of Hogg boycotting Ingraham, though.
Anyone else saw last night and came to the conclusion that GR is so unabashedly carrying water for Trump? Sure, not a revelation, but to see how it played out last night - what a buffoon GR is.
Interesting to see Spitzer on the panel - long time no see. Hope he gets back into the fight again.

Spitzer has been on the show a couple of other times in the past few years. You may have missed that he ran for NYC comptroller in 2013 and did not win the primary.

:smack: Yes, completely missed that.

Cool seeing Gina McCarthy again on Maher a couple weeks ago.

In listing Trump’s accomplishments Geraldo asked, “Who liberated the developmentally disabled?” As a parent of a developmentally disabled son, I think I am well-informed on issues affecting my son. I don’t recall liberation occurring and I haven’t found any reference to this in web searches. Did I miss Trump liberating the developmentally disabled? Bill didn’t call Geraldo on this statement, probably because GR just kept on talking and Bill just kept on interrupting.

Wouldn’t be surprised if GR got his lines crossed and was thinking of Serge Kovaleski.
Still mystified at how he started out, yet ended up like this. I don’t recall such an ideological about-face in someone, like this.
Nobody.

I was confused by that claim as well and also have no idea what Geraldo was referring to.

Geraldo has a lot in common with Trump. They’re both POS’s. A friend and New Yorker once told me he saw the guy walk into a bar and lay out lines to pick up women. White lines, not speech. I can’t prove it’s true, but then I wouldn’t put it past him either.

I find it funny that Fox stands behind him even after he gave up military intel. But then they’re no strangers to ignoring cognitive dissonance. He’s just another Trump mouthpiece, and no more.

Geraldo was referring to his own accomplishments, not Trump’s. The context was Bill’s claim that he used to look up to Geraldo and Geraldo saying that his friendship with Trump is not a good reason to stop looking up to him.

Trump is a terrible president and my politics are closer to Bill’s than Geraldo’s but I don’t think that anything Geraldo said was factually untrue. He had a pro-Fox/pro-Trump spin but he was careful in what he claimed.

Proving collusion with Russia is going to be very difficult. Even if it happened, the results of the investigation are likely to be suspicious but nothing that could bring down Trump. I think Bill will own Geraldo $1,000.

GR, was obviously feeling defensive. He know’s he’s full of shit. And he knows Maher has a point: He used to be a great journalist, but will now be ending his career as a shill.

That said though, I appreciate GR, and Maher are still able to remain friends despite their political differences. This country needs more of that.

You’re right. I reviewed that section of the show, and then a bit more research revealed that Geraldo did an investigative report on New York’s Willowbrook State School for the developmentally disabled back in 1972. (This was long before our developmentally disabled son was even a gleam in his daddy’s eye.) This allowed me to understand his reference to liberating the developmentally disabled.
