I did a quick search on Geraldo and did not find this posted yet.
Geraldo actually expressed exactly what I was thinking when Bill “reported” the drunk driving story.

Geraldo actually expressed exactly what I was thinking when Bill “reported” the drunk driving story.
“I’m talking louder than you, so I win!”
“Yes, but I am pointing my finger in a very aggressive manner, so you lose!”
“Well, I can point my finger aggressively, too. So now that means I win!”
“Now I’m talking louder than you AND pointing my finger in an even more aggressive manner. Check mate!”
“Okay, but I am moustachioed like a Roman god, so game, set, match!”
“A drunk illegal immigrant killed my mother with a Bill Clinton-shaped branding iron!”
“I am Geraldo Rivera; I was spinning the news and reporting it as fact while you were still suckling from your mother’s shriveled teat!”
“You hate America! Suck it!”
The end.
Wow. Go Geraldo!
I hadn’t seen The Factor in so long that I had forgotten how O’Reilly always says, “I’ll give you the last word,” and then never does. Geraldo nailed it: there was no causal relation between immigrating illegaly and driving drunk.
I can think of no greater sign of the apocalypse than that clip. The family of the victms has said that they wish that folks like O’Reilly would STFU.
Just watched it yesterday.
It’s about time somebody shouted back at that blowhard jackass.
Did ORielly read any letters from viewers about it?
Oh my God.
Look at O’Reilly’s face.
He’s so mad he’s practically about to cry.
I’ve heard he’s lost it before. But has he lost it like that?

Also, Geraldo had a great argument w.r.t. cause and effect*. Is he always this clearheaded?

*That is, as far as I could tell, what with all the yelling and all.
O’Reilly would have worked better. Clip has been discussed here.
This shows the futility of the Colbert Report.
The stuff just satirizes itself.
Keith Olbermann had Bill in the WPITW (he almost always does, at least twice a month), and then had Geraldo as the new, BEST PITW. How often do you think THAT would happen?
So the discussion on the thread at Newshounds in part is over the question of whether the incident was in fact staged.
In all the “was it staged?” type situations I’ve thought about before, I’ve ended up being right. So I tend to trust my own judgment on this. And my judgment is: It wasn’t staged. O’Reilly seemed clearly seriously almost-crying-he-was-so-mad mad. Almost out of control.
But hey, it would be interesting to me if I were wrong about this.
Could it have been staged? Is O’Reilly really that good of an actor after all?

Yeah, there was fire in Geraldo’s eyes. Watch it on hi-def wide-screen. It’s real.
FOX News finally has something to show when television runs those Great Moments reels.
I mean CBS has Cronkite announcing Kennedy’s death, ABC has the Viet Cong being killed in the street in Viet Nam and NBC has…um Tiny Tim’s Marriage on Johnny Carson. And Now FOX has Geraldo and Blame O’Rilley fighting.
Honestly, I think this is the most watched clip of “The Never-ending Spin Zone” ever.
Awesome.
I’m surprised anyone ever takes OReilly seriously, as every word out of his mouth is so transparently staged to ignore the point and to hash nonsense political agendas… But then FoxNews is aimed at the idiot demographic and those who prefer to avoid the truth.
Well, I’d say Rivera had by far the better argument, and I loathe that hateful, obnoxious little toad O’Reilly, but it would have been more impressive yet if Geraldo had managed to keep himself under control while his opponent spat the dummy in such specatular fashion.
In conclusion, I really wish O’Reilly would someday realize what a national embarrassment he is and just go away.
When I see O’Reilly say idiotic things or lose his temper in this case, I find it more worrying than entertaining. I have a feeling that there are more Americans at home going “you tell 'em Bill” than mocking him, like we are.
Geraldo’s argument, though better than O’Reilly’s, wasn’t too solid either. He says we lured the immigrants here with our riches. I mean I’m sure the ‘American Dream’ is enticing for many people in the third world but lured them here? C’mon.
I read in the paper this morning that O’Reilly still considers Geraldo one of his favorite people, notwithstanding this incident.
Why do you think they are coming here?
So you’re saying illegal immigrants were “lured” into coming and working in America?
Weren’t O’Reilly and Geraldo patting each other on the back about how much The Daily Show sucked and how Jon Stewart was ruining America not too long ago? They seemed the chummiest of chums. But then again, I don’t watch O’Reilly, so I don’t know how close the two actually were/are.
