German Postage Stamp Question

I guess, being German, I should know this, but I don’t, so hopefully someone here can help.

I have received a package which has 3 different denominations of postage stamps on it:

3 @ 410

1@ 100

1@ 50

No decimals, no nothing. Just the numbers as I wrote them above.

How do I figure how many Euros (I know how to convert to $) were spent?

Thanks

Q

Probably 4.1 € times 3, plus 1 € times 1, plus .5 € times 1, = 13.80 €.

I believe that, before the euro came in, stamps of the Bundesrepublik gave denominations esentially in Pfennigs, even stamps worth more than a Mark, so that a stamp with “150” on it would have been for 1.5 Marks. or 150 Pfennigs. This post-euro usage seems to be continuing that idea.

To confirm, the German 4.1 Euro stamp just says “410.”

Thanks, everyone. I had asked for some German Christmas items to be sent from home and just wanted to make sure I sent enough to cover both purchase and shipping. My folks back home aren’t that well off…

Thanks
