I have to share with you that I’m sitting in my Linguistics lecture and my German born professor (though she speaks flawless english) she CANNOT use ebonics properly. The young black men in our class are correcting her left and right, much to the enjoyment of the students in the class.
We’re talking about dialects and so we’re going over Ebonics as recorded by the text book which is decidedly wrong.
Quite humorous to hear her read from the book, not her personal experience and research, but just what the book has for her to use.
