… or rather they will on October 3rd, when they end 92 years of easy installments and fork over the last payment.
But it’s a mixed blessing, since they know that now they’ll get all kinds of junk mail offering them time-share wars and second, vacation wars, now that their credit rating has gone up.
Wait till they get the taxes on their new property.
Hey, guys! If Germany doesn’t make the last payment, WE get to keep it! Keep your fingers crossed!
Best wishes,

Does Germany earn points that it can now spend on plane tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars? If not, they got robbed.
They’ll have a hard time reselling it. I heard the war is in a neighborhood with no HOA and Poland leaves rusted-out appliances in its yard.
I think they had one of those already - “Not much fun in Stalingrad … no …”
Hmmm… the OP link says Hitler reneged on the payments.
Just think about how many millions of lives would have been spared had England and France simply foreclosed on Germany.
And we pass the savings on to you, our customers!
It’s good to know that Germany will be able to start the next war debt-free.
That picture of Adolf standing in front of a mountain begs for a caption.
“I never thought I could afford to seize this lovely property in a war, but it was easy with 75 annual payments . . .”
Don’t forget that Poland also built a new fence way over onto Germany’s property. All the neighbors say Germany deserved it, though, for being an ass again.
Two observations
-
The “mortgage burning” should NOT be held in Dresden; different war I know, but still bad juju.
-
Anyone want to start a betting pool on when the motor and tranny fold?
For some people that’s a plus.
Dave Ramsey would be so proud!
