Get Fuzzy-Bucky's Fang?

I’ve been reading the comic “Get Fuzzy” for a while but not since the very beginning. Today there was a strip that showed Bucky as a little kitten, two fangs and all.

So, I have to ask, what happened to the missing fang that left bucky with that everpresent one fang?

IIRC, he lost it in a fight with the ferret, but then it was reattached and he lost the other one…or something like that. I can’t seem to find my Get Fuzzy book to make sure.

I know he lost one because he tried to trap the ferret and it backfired, but he had only one when that happened. He just had it reattched.

How did he go from two to one originally?

Knowing Bucky, he lost it while destroying something beloved by Satchel.

Or he broke it off on someone’s bone (encased in the meat of their arm); he isn’t an ambassador of cat kindness.

Such a great cartoon, although it doesn’t take away the pain of losing “Calvin & Hobbes.”

[melodramatic sigh]

Nothing ever will.

I don’t think Bucky’s missing fang has ever been explained. It isn’t in any of the books of collected strips. By the way, yesterday’s strip was a rerun from a couple of years ago.

You know, I don’t know why they don’t just rerun old Calvin and Hobbes strips. Watterson probably has enough collections and strips that CnH could go for years, even without new strips.

It would be nice to see “Calvin and Hobbes” re-run, but, unfortunately, it only lasted for a little over 10 years (September 1985-December 31, 1995), 18 months of which was Watterson sabbaticals, so there might not be enough to use.

They do.
