The Lord & Taylors in Dallas has great customer service. My boss bought a bunch of dresses there and the sales clerk forgot to remove the security tag on one of them. For whatever reason, it didn’t set off the alarm so she (the boss) didn’t notice the tag until she decided to wear the dress.
She called L & T and they sent someone to her house to remove the tag.
Their dresses and suits are great for those of us between the ages of Slut-in-Training and Mother-of-the-Bride. I have about four or five of them–sexy but tasteful.
And I had my HS graduation supper with my friends in the Charleston Gardens Cafeteria of the late lamented Altman’s! We’d graduated from Madison Square Garden and walked over. It closed the next year.
Ohhhh, Altman’s was the best store ever. Always put that stop off till last, because if you couldn’t find what you needed elsewhere, it was sure to be at Altman’s.
Ooooh. I was past the Lord & Taylor in NY. But I’ve never been inside one. Now that I’ve moved to a city that has a branch, maybe I’ll go visit. I need to start learning how to dress like a grown-up now, anyway.
