I’m currently using a Mac G4 with OS X with Photoshop 6.0. I’m trying to get a font into the system so I can use it. I’ve currently placed it in several different folders and it still is not showing up. I’ve checked other programs and they have it, but I’ve yet to figure out if there is a certain place I need to place this font so photoshop will read it.
Also the font needs to be in the folder assigned to the user ID you are logging in with or the root version of the font folder. your photoshop must also be in the root or user identity that has that font in it.
Photoshop 6.0 is an OS9 app. You’ll need Photoshop CS, aka v8.0, in order to run Photoshop natively within the OSX environment (you could also use PS 7.0, but that’s an older version). I don’t believe Classic will read the fonts contained in your user’s fonts folder for OSX.
In order to solve your current problem, try copying the font into you OS9 fonts folder found here: Root/System Folder/Fonts (don’t confuse System Folder with System, one is OS9, the other is OSX).
hope this helps. Oh yeah, after you do this, restart Classic.
