Any ideas? My charge wrote on his parents’ frosted glass bathroom door on my watch (gasp!) He was in their bathroom with them, so, not sure how it’s my fault, but, that’s beside the point. Is there any way to removed the marks?
Try “Lift Off” spray - it will dissolve crayon.
Maybe a hair dryer? Perhaps you could melt it and wipe it off…
Put a towel over it. Apply a warm iron to the towel. Crayon will melt, towel will absorb. Problem solved. Ignorance, fought.
Getting crayon off of a towel…
Pretty much any grease cutting cleaner, but I’d try ammonia first. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or generic version thereof) second. Then use a dry microfiber cloth to scrub away an residue.
Can you go someplace to get a piece of frosted glass to experiment on first? Rub the same crayon on it, let it set for a bit, and try cleaning it. It would suck if you cracked the glass or did something to damage the door.
Bicarb soda. Mix into a thin paste with water, apply with a sponge.
Paper towel or brown paper is better. Just throw it away.

The hair dryer method will work well. You could also try a bit of mineral oil on a paper towel. I’ve seen the ladies on How Clean Is Your House use baby wipes or shaving cream on crayon marks. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue, given it’s glass. Just don’t use anything like a razor blade.
Frosted glass puts up an unusual fight. I’d avoid things like paper towels and brown paper to wipe it up.
Choose one of the oilier cleaners/degreasers , use heat if the product does not warn against it, and use good clean up towels. You skimp anywhere and the frosted glass will always show some visible signs of where the original smears were.
I’ve used ‘Goo-Be-Gone’, the stronger ‘Goof Off’ and even used oven cleaner. To get some of the benefits of oven cleaner’s main ingredient sans fumes, try ‘Greased Lighting’.
WD-40 is famous for this.
Just waiting to hear how this turns out.
And why is it your responsibility again? They were present, in the same room, with their child (birth control people!). Is it because he shouldn’t have been there and you were in charge?
I used WD-40 to get crayon out of new carpet. Check the crayola website- they have a lot of information on how to get crayola out of all kinds of stuff.
Thanks, everyone! Stay tuned for the “Shit, I ruined the door and the kid just chugged some WD-40!: Need answer fast!” thread!
