Just ate a bowl of Ramen in my office because I’m too lazy and broke to go to the cafeteria for lunch. They were ‘Oriental’ flavored…
I’ve never tasted an Oriental before, so I don’t have any idea if they were authentic.

They taste kind of like chicken.
<snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
It’s cloudy and cold and I don’t wanna be here so Ima gonna screw off the rest of the afternoon at work and post and read stuff on the net. Ain’t nobody gonna say nuttin’ bout it cause I’m the only one that can tell on me today and I ain’t tellin’.
I just got home from work and I’m trying to decide whether to go to the dump now or wait till tomorrow when my sweetie can help me. If I go now, then we’ll have more time tomorrow to have a lovely breakfast out, or something. Plus he’ll be all grateful.
I really should just go. Because I’m nice. Dammit.
Off to the dump with me - I’ll be back with a full report in under an hour. Unless something delays me. Synchronize watches… NOW!
**Taters ** and **Lissla ** - I’m very sorry neither of you are feeling well. Hope you are better soon.
Ex, if you leave and Rue goes with you, I’ll have to track you down and hurt you. You won’t like it.
On a lighter note, my middle name is Jean. I’ve probably met only about 5 or so other Rebeccas in my life, and two of them had the same middle name.
I sometimes sign painting or sketches with my initials, but I’m always careful to use R.J. I wouldn’t want people to think I was advertising.
I just got back from the dining facility and picked up a salad. I put green peppers, carrots, cucumbers, eggs, bacon and cheese (I likes my protein, okay?) on it. I wanted to put some craisens on it, but they didn’t have any. I brought the salad back to my office and put some raspberry vinagrette dressing on it. I don’t like the dressings they have down in the facility. Well, I did like the french, but for some freakish reason they’re not carrying it down there anymore. So, I had to break down and bring in my own dressing.
In further news, it appears I am going down to San Diego the week of 13 through 19 March. I will be attending a course at the Naval Medical Center, but need to find my own hotel accomodations. So, I’ve been looking at hotels near there, but the “reasonable” hotels are booked up. The government is only willing to pay $129.00 per night. I’ve been looking by the Gaslamp(?) district, but have only found one and even that one is more than the gov is willing shell out. I haven’t called to see if they offer gov rates. There was a nice hotel that I surely would have liked to stay in, but at 230.00 bucks a night, I don’t think that’s an option. I don’t want to stay too far out from the course because I am unfamiliar with San Diego and don’t want to spend inordinate amounts of time on the road or in traffic. Besides, the class starts at 0730 everyday and I can’t be late.
So, those of you that are familiar with San Diego, what’s there to do there and how badly does traffic suck there?
The hubby is going to be too thrilled. This means he has to figure out what to feed the kids during my absence. It will go like this: I’ll buy easy to prepare food for him. It will all still be in the freezer upon my return because he will have taken them out.
Well, only four more hours to go and then the weekend is here! Yippee!
Back from the dump run - did you miss me? So my garage isn’t as trashy as it was an hour ago. Life is good.
So, this is an unofficial, non-binding poll - should I make dinner or make my sweetie take me out? Or have pizza delivered? Gimme some help here!!
I vote pizza. That’s what I’m having - although not great pizza, frozen pizza - either Lean Cuisine or WW. 'Cause it’s just me. And I’m just not worth good pizza… Nah, I know I’m worth good pizza - but I’ll probably be going out to dinner tomorrow night, so tonight is not as heavy in prep for that.
I will be going to the grocery store right after work - which will probably be now, because work is dead. Gonna pick up some raspberries for dessert - and also see how much goat cheese is, 'cause I’m in an adventurous mood. That’s me - wild and crazy.
That’s it - I’m leaving. Work, that is - not the board.
Susan
I don’t order Pizza on the weekends (Friday included) because the quality seems to suffer.
Well, if you need to be at the Med Ctr by 7:30 every morning, you won’t have a bad time with traffic at all - that’s pretty early. Traffic here can be annoying, but I have commuted on Los Angeles freeways and it’s not nearly as bad here as it is there.
I wouldn’t try the Gaslamp for affordable lodging - sure it’s the cool place, but it will be bucks up. You might want to look for anything on Hotel Circle. Hell, there’s even a Motel 6 there. But there are also nicer places (Hanalei hotel for one) that will be cheaper than what’s downtown. It’s probably about 5 miles away from the Med Center, so your drive won’t be bad at all.
What’s to do here? That depends on what you like. The Gaslamp is a great place to go for meals and clubs - I hate to tell you that I don’t hang there, so I don’t have any tried and true places to recommend. Balboa Park has some great museums, and you’ll be practically across the street (literally) from that. That’s also where the zoo is. If you like to be outdoors, head on over to Mission Bay. There are lots of concrete paths to bike/blade/walk/run on, you can ride the rollercoaster at Belmont Park, and walk along the beach.
If you want to, you can send me an email (leadersteph at yahoo dot com) and we can discuss specifics, I can try to dig up links to stuff, and figure out what kind of things you might find enjoyable here, depending on the time you have available.
And Wintermute, are you the same person giving me anime suggestions on Skip’s board? The capitalization/lack thereof is confusing me, so I don’t want to make any assumptions only to find out it is someone totally different.
Ya wanna come over and clean up my garage. It should only take you a couple, three days to get here. The dump is just a few miles from my house. Actually, we do need to make yet another dump run. I swear, everytime we get that garage squared away, little mess gremlins come along and mess it all up again. The cardboard is everywhere, again! Plus, we’re still storing our old furniture in there for the nephew. I’m going to tell the hubby to get it out or get it picked up.
Still no suggestions for San Diego forthcoming?
Patience, grasshopper.
I was at lunch, for heavens sake. Subway was calling! (and the guy gave me like 10 sub club stamps and totally made my day)
By the way, since it’s on a new page, you posted right as I was crafting a response.
I’m picking up pizza from the neighborhood eyetalian place on the way home. Mr. Anachi likes it and I can get two large cheese pizzas for $12.95 which will leave enough in the budget to get some wangs as well.
Then, because it’s cold and dreary here tonight, I can just snuggle in my chair and try to figure out the stoopit HDTV channel listings. sigh
FCM I say go for the pizza. That way y’all can build a fire and snuggle all evening. Or do some drywall. You two are so weird drywall just might be what y’all had planned for the weekend anyways.
Yep, that would be me. It’s very nice of you to pretend not to have recognized my long-winded and pedantic writing style.
I’m Wintermute, capitalized or not, on all the boards I read/post on. It is, oddly enough IMO, usually available. I don’t know if the book I took it from is too old or too obscure for most people (maybe just the fact it’s in a book and no other form of media  ). So if you’re on a board, especially anime-related, and you see that name, it’s probably me. I have, so far, resisted the urge to write it in 733t. W1nt3rmu7e, for example. Or //1||73r//\u73. If I find a board where it’s taken, I may have to stoop to that.
Well, that’s it for me this week. Two of my bosses are out of town the early part of next week, so maybe I can get in here and say Hi in a more timely fashion.
Have a nice weekend, everyone.
Pizza it is. In fact, I’ll be leaving in about 5 minutes to fetch it. Yummmmmm.
I just had a roast chicken twister from KFC for lunch. It’s just after 5:30 here. I don’t know what time dinner might be, but I made it to the banks. So, now I’m living vicariously through you. Please tell me what kind of toppings, crust, etc.
“Wangs”?!, Tupug? All sorts of bad Penny Arcade connotations.
I’m starting to think that maybe I should go to the hospital. Mr. Lissar is out getting me aspirin and a thermometer. I’ve spent the whole day in bed, except for dragging myself to the computer for a few minutes at a time. I can’t really read- the type keeps moving. I feel worse than I did this morning, and I’m dizzy.
I don’t want to go to Emergency. It’ll be four hours of waiting around, and then they’ll tell me to go home and stay in bed. I’ve been gradually getting sick since Wednesday evening.
Bed rest and fluids don’t seem to be cutting it. I don’t know if I’ll be well enough to work tomorrow, either, and I don’t think there’s anyone to take my shift.
Maybe I will miraculously recover in the next hour or so.
One was thin crust with pepperoni, spicy sausage, anchovies, onions, and peppers. One was mushroom and ham. It was supposed to be mushroom and beef, but they ran out of beef. Oh well…
