Opal, I was having a terrible day, and then I saw that picture. I was overcome by its cuteness. All is well in my world now. Thank you.
Two different families we know have kittens that were named by young children:
Fabulous (known as “Fab”)
and
Monkey Boy (who has already used up one of his nine lives by being accidentally tumbled in the dryer with some wet towels for about 15 seconds before they figured out what that funny noise was)
What an adorable photo, Opal!
A good friend of mine in high school got a cat. Actually, it was his mother’s idea and he new if he let his mother pick the name it would be something cute like “Buttons” or “Pockets”. He talked his mother into letting him name the cat, and he named her “Drool”.
His mother wound up calling her “Drooly”.
Too cute. Besides, Tornado isn’t a bad name for a kitten, I’ve known a few.
boy… your cat looks an awful lot like a young boy…
at any rate, cute cat, and adorable son
Awwwwwwwwwwww…
AAAAWWWWWWW…
Tornado-good name for a cat…Misty acts like one.
I want a kitty! (Can’t get one until Noel is off of her medicine though, since it lowers her immune system :(…)
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! that’s so cute!

Cute kid AND cute kitten!
Last time I let a child pick a kitten, we ended up with a scrawny tailless fighter with runny eyes instead of the beautiful gray long-tailed affectionate kitten. I then compounded the error by letting her name it. We now have Socks, the tailless cat who won’t sit on your lap for longer than it takes to shed some of his silky long black fur on you. At least “Mr. Tornado Sweaty Guy” is original!
What amazing eyes your son has! Absolutely beautiful.
And I like both Tornado and Sweaty Guy as names, actually. Some real characters of cats show up that way…
Shovel Head.
Crocodile Dunderhead.
PoorHungryKitty.
Cthulu (stray who announced hunger by knawing on human toes)
My mom always named the cats, but we NICKNAMED them. Mergatroid Kitty Sprockets was my favorite. Though “Nit” usually worked, too.
Mister Tornado is an awesome name. Way cool. Kids can think up the coolest names before they get those filters that adults have. Go You!
So, Opal, a lot of animals have long names, but what do you call him for short (the cat, not your son)?
Twister?
Sweat?
Guy?
Anyway, your son’s a good lookin’ guy (has the light in his eyes - good).
I don’t talk to you often; Happy Holidays, dear.
We’re gonna call him Sweaty. NO! just kidding. We’re gonna call him Tornado or Torny.
I asked him why he chose “Sweaty” as part of the name, and he said “Sweaty means you’re hot like you need a drink. Like when you’re out on the playground and you get all sweaty and you melt like peanut butter.”
What a beautiful picture! I like the kitty too… When I first read this, I thought you named it “oh god”! I like Mr. Tornado Sweaty Guy much better!
You can always call him Mr. T.
Everyone in that picture is completely adorable! What a pair of dolls.
Enid waves a paw to Mr. Tornado Sweaty Guy (We need a cat-eared smiley.)
My friend let her son name their cat. This led to many nights of my friend wandering around outside, calling “Batman”.
She felt stupid.
Cute kitten. I think that Tornado Sweaty Guy has some personality to it.
I think that name has a lot more style than the names most people give their foo-foo purebreds. Hugs and kisses to the new addition from Michi, Happy, Hootie, Angel, Annie, Cherokee, Wrigley, White Parakeet, and 2 no-name rats.
