Very Cute. However, I really do think "Oh God’ is gonna be a tough name to call him with.
Mine are : Dove (maine coon), Rajah, & Sirdar (bengals)

It looks like your kid is trying to suffocate that cat. The kitty is cute
warm fuzzies
Thanks Opal. Rough day but that makes it better.
Cool name too btw.
Oooooooooh…now I want a kitten too…

“Kitten: small homicidal muffin on legs; affects human sensibilities to the point of endowing the most wanton and ruthless acts of destruction with near-mythical overtones of cuteness. Not recommended for beginners. Get at least two.”

My parents let me name my beagle as a kid. ::sniff:: I sure miss Peppy Lou. Too bad I didn’t think of Mr. Tornado Sweaty Guy! You can call him Mr. TSG and let people wonder…
Cute kitty – cuter kid.
So true! When my daughter was three, she got two dolls for christmas. She named the boy doll, Pootie, and the girl, Sadie-Bob.
Actually, I’ve found that the name the cat is supposed to have always comes to the surface.
I tried naming my former kitty Thunder, but it just didn’t work, so she became Fuzzy.
Is Tornado camera shy? No pics of him looking right at the camera?
Your cat = cute
Your son = cute
Your husband = Satan
That is all.
Awwwwww! Cute picture!
Mr. Tornado Sweaty Guy…
Well, if nothing else the kids definatly got a future in a Japanese advertizing firm naming fortified softdrinks.
I’m afraid to ask what your retriever is named…
Some of the best cat names came from Heinlein’s To Sail Beyond the Sunset:
Princess Polly Ponderosa Penelope Peachfuzz
Random Numbers
Captain Blood
(And don’t forget Pixel, who still doesn’t understand that walls are solid.)
LL
Awwwww! I love black cats! Your kitten is so cute! I wish I could have a cat…
I just got some rabbit kittens myself. Been living on my own for a few years, and I miss the pets in my parent’s home. My first choice was a dog, but I work too long in the day to properly look after a puppy. Second choice was a cat, but the SO is afraid of them and I’m allergic. So, I got a pair of rabbits.
Their names are Emu and Kiki. Their nicknames are Ddongjengi and Kongju Byung, meaning “She who craps a lot” and “Princess Complex”. They’re very cute and have endeared themselves to me with their ability to rearrange the furniture for nefarious purposes.
Anyhow… cute kitten. And cute name.
I already have names picked out for my next cat:
Gypsy, if it’s a girl
Crow, if it’s a boy
MST3K-of course! It’ll probably be female, though. My mom won’t get a male.
My late, beautiful Fluffy was named when I was six…I STILL miss her…I know I bring it up all the time, but it’s so fucking hard…
All cats have the same name: “Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…” (which is about the best written description of the sound of an electric can-opener)
When called by that name, they invariably come.
TOO CUTE!! now I miss my cats…going home in less than a week, though!
Since people are sharing, my cats are Midnight(yes, she’s black) and Levis (a tradition continued by a dog named Nike…though unfortunately he passed away when he was 2 1/2 ). The new dog is Sully, whose favorite play-toy happens to be Levis….
Our other animals:
kitties:
Ding
Kaia
Claude
doggy:
Sparky (though his “full name” for his papers is “Golden Sparcules of that ilk”)
Congratulations on the new family member!
Since this thread has turned into “weird names we gave our cats” may I share:
Genius: Personality of a barracuda. Fairly bright, though.
Sassers (short for Sasquatch): “The brainless wonder”
Lucky: All black. Named for the original “Morris”, whose real name was Lucky.
Trooper: a big gold tabby, personality of a sofa pillow.
Misha: named after dancer Mikhael Barishnikov. Had the ability to leap and hover in mid air for a moment before touching ground. Also had the bluest eyes of any cat I’ve ever known.
And finally:
George, the 20 year old Himalayan/Siamese mix. Named George because my sister refused to let us name him anything oriental (my choice: Ko-ko or Suki) while my mom refused to let them name him “Meatball Chickenlips”.
So Tornado is in good company!
my uncle named his cat ‘The Little Reverand’ after a character in the tv show, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman
I have no idea why.
I named my border collie mutt ‘Prozac’ when he was a puppy, because he was an excellent antidepressant. I have an alleged Min Pin, named Lilly, for no apparent reason.
BTW, I call him Zac and only use the full name when he gets in trouble. And he still is a great antidepressant. I inadvertantly used the past tense in that first post
Everyone knows that weird names are the best kind!
I haven’t had enough pets to name strangely:
Cats I’ve had: Tippy, Muffin, Puff, Tigger
Dog I have now: Max
Hermit Crabs I’ve owned: Felix, Woody
Cute kitty and adorable son, Opal!
Wow - what an awesome name for a cat!! It is fantastic that your adorable son has such a great imagination.
We used to have a cat that started out being called Nibbles (cause it was just so tiny) and then progressed to Little Lunch, Big Lunch and then was finally named Banquet as it grew into a huge ginger tom cat.
Anyways - beautiful cat and beautiful son.
