Ghod! California Has Become A Freak Show...

But this happens all the time with other fields. What’s Simon’s experience in public office? What’s Pat Buchanan’s? Did John Glenn’s military and space career give him expertise in government? If it’s OK to listen to them and vote for them if it sounds right, then I don’t see how actors and directors should be different. Celebrity in any context shouldn’t be the only criterion–one needs to listen to the message, obviously, but I don’t see how it follows that since actors play roles they are more likely to be liars in public life.

Thank Og, Jesse’s not going to run again.

Maybe he will move to California, that’s where he got his last name from.

Has become a freak show?

As you then say, it always was.

The first time I stepped off the bus into California I was greeted by a guy wrapped up in a sheet carrying a sign that read “Jesus Saves all Vegetarians”. The perfect image for California. The woman I was going to see greeted me with “Welcome to Granola Land – Fruits, Nuts, and Flakes!” (a slightly different version of something someone else cited above).

California is weird.
