Ghost Rider is an example of a super hero that was made in the 70s and should have stayed there because there’s no way to adapt him to the post Easy Rider era.
And that was from 2006. Here’s his page at Rotten Tomatoes. Only 2 “fresh” films since then and one of those I would question (plus he wasn’t the lead). Mostly so-so films with a couple of real turkeys.
His IMDb page lists National Treasure 3 (announced). So, we all have that to look forward to. The 2nd one made $220M. No one ever went broke …
For what it’s worth, I thought the second was honestly much better than the first. That’s still not enough to make it good, but it was reasonably entertaining matinee - and I don’t usually enjoy bad movies. I also though it could have done much better with some relatively small changes. Also, I loved the fact that they basically told Cage to act like a crazy person, which he did the entire damn movie.
I just want a third National Treasure movie. They’re fun.
Is it snobbery that I find the thread title to be a statement of the hilariously obvious?
“Ghost Rider 2 was awful.”
I thought the movie itself was passable, good popcorn fun, but I thought the new style of the Ghost Rider himself was really cool. He was almost kind of twitchy, with weird bird-like movements. It made him seem much more un-human.
The first one didn’t give you a clue?
Let me help you out: Cage is an immature, irresponsible man-boy; a cliche of the movie-rich actor who has forsaken his craft in order to pay for his irresponsible lifestyle, all the while expecting sympathy and generosity from movie-goers, while sneering at their gullibility. Fuck him: fuck him for wasting his talent and our time; fuck him for phoning in his roles; and fuck him for squandering what most of us would love to have even a small percentage of.
So, Chefguy, are you sayin’ you* liked it?*
I read this with Cage’s voice in my mind. It’s kind of interesting that way.
Interspersed with bouts of maniacal laughter, coke-induced bared teeth, and sweaty brow, I hope.
Oddly, I heard it in James Lipton’s.
Maybe they can get Andy Samberg to do Ghost Rider 3.
In the trailer I saw hew was riding a Yamaha VMAX, what’s not to like?
