…with Nicolas Cage.
He keeps putting out shit and I keep on watching it. If that’s not the same as being in an abusive relationship, I don’t know what what is!
But the person I really feel sorry for is his agent!

In a recent interview he actually decided not to pursue anymore Ghost Rider films. Rejoice.
Just because you’re into scat doesn’t make the relationship abusive.
I didn’t dislike The Weather Man, but admittedly I was trying hard to give it the benefit of the doubt because it was Nicolas Cage. And yes, it’s disturbing to look over his filmography and realize how few and far between the good movies actually are. Adaptation was ten years ago.
One thing to keep in mind is Cage has enormous money and tax problems and actually has to take every role that’s offered him.
That still doesn’t explain his participation in the Ghost Rider movies.
 Stop! STOP!
**I’ll confess, I’ll confess! **
Just stop the torture!!!
Every now and then, watch Raising Arizona as a palette cleanser.
You know, it’s not Awesome, but it should wash some of the stink away.
Yeah the true shame is that the guy can act.
Raising Arizona

Oh, he’s definitely a fine actor, but he’s been selecting someawfully bad scripts lately.
You are aware that is the same video I linked to in the OP, right?
Whenever this subject comes up I always remember the first time I heard about it. It had to be close to 20 years ago now (!) and I think it was in Entertainment Weekly. It was an interview with Sean Penn, who came up thru Hollywood together with Cage and was best friends with him. It must have been the mid-nineties or so, and Penn basically completely trashed Cage in the interview, saying that he was a complete sell-out and was squandering his talent by doing films simply for a big paycheck. At the time Cage rebuffed his criticism claiming he didn’t understand or agree with it, but that the two of them were definitely no longer friends.
As much as I dislike Penn for his childish politics, he is a great actor and he has consistently chosen roles based on quality material. And he was 100% right about Nicholas Cage, he definitely decided to sell his soul and join the bazillion-dollar-per-film club like Travolta and Eddie Murphy and Ben Affleck (at least Affleck realized the error of his ways and has somewhat recovered).
Because he’s a nerd. He was going to be Superman too. He named his son Kal-El.
Despite Nicolas Cage
