Ghostbusters RPG (OOC thread)

No.

Oh well, yeah. That would’ve been a good idea I guess.

Ouch. I thought we had. Well, assuming he’s alive, that would have been a good route to take.

Oh, well.

The only time the subject came up was this exchange:

Lou, having perused the documents found at the Hall of Records, speaks.

“Ah s’pose dis Ralph is da one da ghos’ is afta. Y’all tink he’s still alahve?”

J.T. Roth “Well, if the dates on these clippings are accurate, he’d have to be almost 100 years old by now! If he’s still around, he won’t be for much longer… I’d say we should find him quickly, if we’re gonna find him at all!”

“Mebbe we shou’d fin’ sumone who kin hold a seance, jus’ in case? Har, har.”

Hint: What item, normally found in this type of location, was conspicuously lacking? I’m pretty sure each of you has mentioned it at least once, either in the IC or OOC threads.

How Ghostbusters Should Have Ended.

I can’t see any specific item mentioned that would relate to a medical facility. however, the layout doesn’t seem like the ofice was laid out as a long term care facility. Where did they keep Marie? The offices seem to be examination rooms, not really appropriate for patient care.

The whole layout seems more geared towards research. So what were they researching?

The broken phones seem to be hinting towards we should have tried contacting Ralph, using Maries contact number.

Anyone else have any ideas?

bingo!

A little help for getting into the 80s vibe.

Awesome  I hope we can do more followup on clues like that for the next adventure

Lou’s Grand Pere (grandfather) was a motorcycle racer and Lou owns one of his old bikes. Doesn’t want to leave such thing out on the street so it’s being stored at a dirt track over in Jersey.

Thanks.

The next adventure follows basically the same plot; a single ghost, a single location, find out what it wants or blast it to smithereens. There’s a large cast of NPC to talk to, and the difficulty level will be ramped up from “Tutorial” to “Normal.”

After that, if we’re still going, I’ve got one with a lot of running around and shooting at stuff, and one with a very simple mystery but a big bad ghost that will require a lot of action, and not so much talking.

If y’all want, we can change the order and do one of those first, but it’d take me some prep time to do.
JT’s got no problem letting Lou park his bike in the shop, by the way. Y’all might even paint it up with the Ghostbuster’s logo… the Ecto-1/2, maybe? :stuck_out_tongue:

I liked Lou’s suggestions on the Suburban. I’m not much of a car guy so a lot of it went over my head, but… consider it done. I’ll trust you not to do anything insanely overpowered, and hope that someone tells me if you try to slip anything past me!

Regarding the headquarters itself: You’re right, it doesn’t look much like a medical clinic, does it? It’s not, not really… I google-searched for office floorplans until I found one I liked, then modified it with Photoshop a little bit. The whole warehouse area in the back was just a simple cut-and-paste jobby, with a little decoration. I have no idea what it originally was, except that the rooms were as labeled when I downloaded it… could well have been a research facility for all I know.

…and who’s to say they *weren’t *researching something there? Maybe there’s still more mystery to be solved about this place, hmm? I mean, I’m not saying it was [strike]Aliens[/strike] tuxedo-clad zombie pirates, but…
ps: anybody know the code to draw a line through words? thought it was strike but it’s not, apparently.

Also:

Lou’s DRIVE VEHICLE skill applies to cars, trucks, motorcycles, and things of that sort… it does NOT apply to semi-trucks, airplanes, helicopters, boats, etc., although it helps it’s not a full skill in those situations.

If the rest of you have similar hobbies, feel free to introduce them in your character. You’ve got jobs now so you have SOME discretionary income to spend on gear, if you like. Not a lot, tho, don’t go crazy!

Found this on my hard drive just now; seemed appropriate to post!

So what would have been the best result had we followed up on that path? Would we find Ralph and get him to talk her into leaving?

Yes.

The idea was that Marie was constantly ‘possessing’ the telephones, now that J.T. had service restored to the location, trying desperately to contact Ralph. Every time she failed to do so, she destroyed the offending device, leading to a pile of broken telephones. The players were ‘supposed’ to use the remains to build a new telephone, (or use Gerald’s mobile phone) and use that to contact Ralph. At that point, Ralph and Marie would talk to one another for the last time, giving her closure and releasing her soul to the afterlife… and simultaneously giving Ralph closure, allowing him to die peacefully at 100 years old. A bittersweet but ‘happy’ ending.

Poor Marie. Poor Ralph. Poor players. Poor sadistic bastard GM. :frowning:

Oh well, gettng ome practice in with the proton packs ws more fun

Should Gerald get the call in the new thread?

Shouldn’t our new secretary be taking the call? She can direct the client to Gerald.

You don’t have a new secretary.

Yet.

Two things.

  1. The building map isn’t up on Roll20. Please put it up and move me to JT’s office so I can help with the phone.

  2. Can we make Roll20 visible to anyone who wants to follow the game?
