Any dopers wanna guess what this is?
this isn’t the first time something like this has been reported. I believe it was on the east coast of the states in the '30s or '40s something similar was photographed and puzzled over. No time to google, but IIRC this sounds very familiar.

It is time for those genetic taxonomists to shine!
I tend to find that the results of these tests tend to get much less coverage in newspapers and on cryptozoology websites, because they usually show that the unknown carcass is a recognised species.
