I have been asked to be the Godfather to my neice, and am honored to do so. It’s my brother’s daughter. I want to get her something special, but am not sure what I can get her. Any ideas?
A movie role.
How about a charm bracelet, to be added to by you at Christmas/birthdays etc?
Julie
Maybe the head of a horse? You could put it in her crib and surpriser her with it.
I also like the charm bracelet idea.
yeah. i know that ‘surprise’ only has two 'r’s. really.
Something (believe it or not) religious is always good. A nice cross necklace, for instance, or a good, leatherbound Bible are appropriate gifts. Gifts for godchildren tend to be more of the “keepsake” variety than the “play with it now” type, since you’re commemorating the occasion of you taking on a solemn trust. You could always, of course, get the expensive keepsake item and something like a big plastic Noah’s Ark (in keeping with the religious theme) for her to actually have now.
Since being a godfather is considered a religious role, I’d go with something along those lines too. The one time I have been given this honor I bought my godson a children’s bible. I go over to his mother’s house once in a while to read to him, and when he gets older I hope he’ll read to me out of it. It has the special bonus of encouraging him to read.
