GIGA- coaster

I talked to my friend the other night, and he told me he was going to Cedar Point within the next few months to ride their new roller coaster. It’s called the Millennium something. Anyway, this thing is 310 feet high with a 300 foot drop, at 80 degrees, and 92 mph!! How fucking crazy is that! To say the least it’s breaking/setting all kinds of records. It’s the first GIGA coaster; anything over 300 feet will fall into this category. Hopefully I’ll be able to get there soon.

I love the feeling of a good coaster ride. The last one I rode was at Six Flags Over Texas called the Texas Giant. That was by far the best wooden coaster I’ve ever ridden. I had been in a car accident about a month before, and had some neck pain for a while. When I got to the park I had been feeling normal for about a week. One ride on the Texas Giant fixed that for me. All the dips, shaking, and g’s made my neck hurt so bad during the ride I almost cried with pain and pleasure. It was great!! I had to ride that thing about 8 more times.

Any favorite coasters out there?

girl: “My what big balls you have!”

guy: “Amazing what a little Wuchereria bancrofti can do for ya.”

I went to Cedar Point last summer; my favorite coasters there were the Raptor and the Magnum. I’m a little upset now that I missed the chance to ride the new one (it’s a pretty good drive from here), but I’ll make it back eventually. Another of my all time faves is The Beast at King’s Island, I generally prefer wood to steel.

I vaguely recall hearing they were building a looping woodie somewhere. Anybody know if this is true, or am I just imagining things again?

http://www.rollercoaster.com which is devoted to all roller coasters. Lots of people are looking forward to Millennium Force there, as well as the first wooden looping coaster, Son of Beast, at Paramount’s Kings Island near Cincinnati. You can ask just about ANY roller coaster question there and someone will answer it.

I can also recommend http://pub3.ezboard.com/bgoosesrealmofinsanity.html A few posters there actually work at theme parks and can give inside info on upcoming rides. It’s based in southern California, so it has a forum devoted to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

SFMM has a new coaster called Goliath, which has the tallest drop (255 feet) of any roller coaster in operation, though that record will obviously be broken when MF opens next month. I’ve already ridden Goliath three times. Pictures of Goliath are available here: http://www.thrillride.com/goliath/goliath.html
