Gingy's Cross-Country Extravaganza!

Where on my route? Esssplain pls kthnx.

Ginger, I’m in Indianapolis, so I’m right on your route! Seeing as you’ll be staying overnight in Columbus, I doubt you’d need our spare bedroom. Plus, we’ll be in Lexington, KY that weekend (I’m assuming you mean July 4-6). :frowning: However, I will recommend a stop here in Indianapolis, and give you a warning!!

If you want to stop in Indy, the best place for you to go with your son is the Children’s Museum - it’s the largest one in the world!! Let me know if you’d like directions.

If you’re a racing fan, you will come very close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on your route.

Here’s my warning: Indy is undergoing a HUGE construction project on our downtown interstate ramp system this summer that may directly affect you (it’s called Hyperfix). If you planned on driving straight through downtown Indy on I-70, you will not be able to do so. You can do a little bit of street driving through downtown and get back on I-70, or you may want to just go around on I-465 (go south) to I-74. Please e-mail me if you would like me to explain further, especially if this website is too confusing.

Best of luck to you!

Sheeyit Zenster, that was hilarious!

Hey! Antie! Email me dates, k? I might be in Kananaskas the first weekend of July, so that kinda screws everything up.
And why’d you have to go and invite mom? I mean REALLY. Its… mom… she’s going to be loud and obnoxious the whole Time.
Thats MY job!
Buglet is usually really good in the car… he was with me and dad. We gave him his rescue hero’s and we didn’t hear a peep. Well, except when he had to go pee… he can be very vocal, that boy.

ANYWAYS. Email me. I would email you, but I can’t get to hotmail on this computer. Damned School computer won’t let me.

(California transplant speaking) Hey, MinnDopers, doesn’t that route take her past that big Paul Bunyan park thingy?

Sounds like fun, Ginger! My brother lives in Minneapolis, and if you’d like I can give you his number in case you need an emergency contact in that area. He and his wife are cool folks, and would be more than happy to help in any situation if needed.

Ooooookay, been there done that. I get it.

Neeever Miiind …

Thus far, I have sleeping-spots in Columbus, Ohio, and Minneapolisish, Minnesota.

Sounds like you need something in Illinois. Hmm … Tiburon comes to mind … Maybe you should do a separate “I need a place to sleep” thread? You’d get some more responses, maybe. Best of luck.

Oh, no. I would ask friends directly. I’m just thinking that we may need a spot in North Dakota, and one night in a hotel isn’t going to kill us.

Do you know what day you will be in Minneapolis?

6-31, 7-1, what?

At the moment, I’m not sure. I doubt very much that it would be June 31st (heh) but June 30 sounds about right. I’ll be staying with lno and Elenfair and likely be roped into moving.

HEY! That route brings you within 100 yards of my house here in Fargo! Honk your horn as you pass under a blue footbridge here, and I may hear you!

There isn’t much tourist type stuff here in Fargo, but be sure to check out the giant buffalo in Jamestown. The site also has “White Cloud” the only albino buffalo. (This is the one that american indian prophecy supposedly foretells the fall of the white-man or some such. Ted Nugent wants to eat it, apparently.)

There is a whhhhhhole lot of not much between Fargo and Jamestown tho. Be sure to look around a lot or you WILL succumb to road hypnotism. I94 is a straight line with only one bend between the two cities.

Paws off, twin city peoples, she’s OURS.

YEAH!

Besides, it’s gonna be like CANADIA DAY, so she has to be with a FELLOW CANADIAN.

YEAH!

(well, near Canadia day. IT COUNTS.)

Yeah, but you also want her for some slave labor, the rest of us just want some Gingy goodness.
Not mention that I am 106% compatible with her.

Well, I could practice my O’ Canada rendition.*

O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
Hmmm something n la la la la
Hmm hmmmhmmm and free!
Hmmmhmm an wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
Og keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. *

Ok it needs some practice, but I got a month.

Well, see, if you decide to alter your route on the way home, and cut across Michigan instead of crossing Indiana and Ohio, you’re welcome at our place.

I recommend taking Cranky up on her offer. Her son tells a mean joke.

I haven’t finalized anything yet. I hadn’t really even thought about the way back; whether I would go through Canada or the US. I guess probably it’s smarter to go through the US, and maybe take ol’ Crankypants up on that.

Getting any further north than Cow-Town, Gingy?

We’re getting overloaded with Yankee’s heading up to Alaska right now… one more wouldn’t even be noticed!
